Yes, absolutely. A lot of my aunts and uncles have married outside our race. One of my uncles lives in Dubai and is married to a Chinese woman, another uncle is married to a half Caucasian woman that he met here in India on his trip to Goa with his friends. One of my aunts is married to a Caucasian man and another one of my uncles is getting married in December to a Caucasian woman. Get togethers are usually fun, and technically a lot of my second cousins and their cousins are Caucasians, East Asians and Indians.

My parents are okay with me dating outside my race as long as the guy I'm bringing home is respectful, kind and treats me well. They only care about my happiness, not my partner's race. My mum is a bit traditional though, but she would not disown me or anything if I bring home a guy who is not Indian. Not all Indian families would be okay with this though. For example, some of my friends are not even allowed to date... which sucks! My parents are Westernized and liberal as compared to some of my traditional friends. Arranged marriages are still common here, but my mom very well knows that I would much rather end up a spinster before I marry someone through arranged marriage. I hate archaic stuff.

Yep, absolutely we can. I am engaged to an Australian man. He is originally from Perth. His family owns a company that does a special sort of consulting for pharma companies. India is a huge drug maker. So, he used to live here about 3/4 of the year. After we met, it was all year except holidays.

Now, will all Indian families be okay with this? Nope. Mine is however. While we are Hindu, my family is quite liberal when it comes to a lot of things. That has a lot to do with my parents both being educated here and western educated.

They allowed me to date who I wanted and marry who I want. I wasn't forced into an arranged marriage that is still very much common.

It also has a lot to do with living in a huge tier 1 city where things change much more rapidly than say the rural areas of India, which are still much more traditional. So, it is going to come down a lot to family values and religion in a lot of cases.

I could not be more happy though. My family loves my fiancé very much. He is a great guy and treats me so well. They just want me to be happy first and foremost.

all cultures/races/ethnicities are able to just sone may be disowned, disgraced, religiously/politically persecuted, forced to flee under varying circumstances (from harsh words in the culture up to imprisonment/death sentence) from their home land. that could be as simple as moving to a distant village to having to move to another nation (often a westernized country such as UK or US)

Many/most parents would prefer that their adult children marry within their race. Indians seem more on the traditional end than some other races.

But I have a very good friend who married outside. (He's Indian, she's Caucasian.) They are still married, 11 years later, and both families accepted it. They pushed them to get married, actually, as after some years, the two of them being together wasn't enough. "Lock it in!" type of thing. Luckily his parents were progressive.

As far as I know Indian women are obsessed with us white men while indian men are obsessed with every race but that's just what i've seen online
