Absolutely. Matter of fact, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm still in university, so I'm staying away from relationships until I have a job that pays well and decent savings. I think dating right now is just a distraction from what I need to be focused on, and it will take from my time and energy.

This idea isn't very popular amongst my peers, but I have no doubt that it will yield the best results. Unless you're the type of person who is extremely effective at time management, it's very hard to study 8 hours a day and stay in touch with another person everyday of the week, while keeping up with the regular excercise. I'm a perfectionist, so I like to put all of my energy into what I'm doing, rather than half-ass a relationship on the side just for the sake of it. That however will change when I am in my late 20s to early 30s after I get my shit together.

I agree. While you don’t need to be ready to buy a house right now, you should be prepared to settle down if you find the right person. There’s not much point in finding the right person if you have to wait years to settle down together. While you can try to make a relationship work with little money, it is hard and these days and especially if you want to have kids you should wait until you have some financial stability behind you.
