Hi! I'm a 28 year old guy who has never had a girlfriend due to certain circumstances, so was wondering what you might think of my appearance. I'm 5'8-5'9 and around 200 lbs, muscular, soft type build. I'm a kind and caring guy but also a little shy. I'm an animal lover, love to cook, and enjoy physical activities like horseback riding, running with my dog, surfing, bike riding, and rock climbing. Spreading kindness throughout the world is what I'm most passionate about. I'm not sure how many women would think I'm their type, so I'm just curious.

I agree with anything SueShe said because that's exactly what I was about to write, and I add that another aspect that makes you a potential date or not is not just your "specs" that you have alone by yourself, but compatibility with each girl is an important aspect too. You will be more, or less, compatible, with any girl, depending on interests and hobbies you share, values and spirituality, similar vision and perspective, lifestyle, type of humor, communication skills and maturity, etc.
Of course there are couples where both partners are 0 compatible with each other but they have at least the vision/future in common that is very solid and they work to make it happen (like old generation people did), but of course the more you vibe well together, the more you get chances of communicating more with her and maybe developing feelings, and the possible relationship would work smoothly.
This works well if you are meeting friends of friends or girls in other contexts that are not meant for dating, unless you use apps that focus more on compatibility (OKcupid) than on seeing a photo and deciding yes/no in 3 seconds (that is obviously made for selecting dates based on looks only first of all). Physical appearance is important but you aren't "ugly", at most you aren't the stereotype of the hot guy but as long as you are not repulsive (and you aren't at all) then there is a lot of space to value the rest of your qualities (as long as you don't hyperfocus on dating apps that are based on appearance-only).
Also, take in account that some things are repulsive for women even in case you are extremely hot, and one in particular (that works both genders): if you are clingy, needy, and put yourself in an unbalanced situation, giving more than what you receive and responding with giving more attention/input to a lack of response/respect, then you are digging your own grave (works for both genders).

There are a few words in your descriptive that make up for all those men that claim they have the biggest penis, the greatest ego, the money to go with the rest but that never lose a single word about their character and personality.

Your words that make a whole difference are:

"kind and caring", "animal lover" and "spreading kindness". Those words mean more to most girls than the the other egoistic statement by those men that seem to have everything that is not important.

If I was into dating, then your words would be what I would be drawn to if they are sincere.
