How can I make a text conversation keep going?

This girl and I talk a lot in person but through text, well either she doesn't like to or we both suck as it. For example I just sent her a photo of my cats staring at a bird in the window with the caption "thought you might recognize this", she's met my cats, and simply said "hey there kitty cats!"

Maybe it's a normal response and I just don't know how to continue and I need help. I haven't seen her since last week for what it's worth

Just have fun. Say some off-the-cuff or funny things to stir things up a bit. If you click, then you click. Sometimes it's just an issue where you don't click conversationally. But don't disregard straight away because of boring texts convos, sometimes two people take a while to get onto more interesting topics.

and we're good at that in person but it's so hard to get there over text. Like today she answered after several hours, twice, laughed at something I said and even sent me a photo with no context, I asked something and again she is lost. Like it's always this way we kind of click but she dissapears. I'll try to just enjoy it though, I'm definitely putting too much pressure on it since I haven't seen her in over a week

Some people just aren’t texters. But if you want to start a conversation just ask how her day was; or what her plans are later on.

That’s good. But yeah some people just don’t text. I have one friend that I talk to maybe once every couple months for like an hour and then we’re done.

Ha I get it, I have to write down "text friends" on my to-do list every few months. I mean they don't text me much either, but at times text me at the worse times

With this girl though we talk a lot so I'd like to establish a text connection too, especially when I don't see her for days

Definitely too far in your own head. Just act normal. I ignore texts and then don’t mention them later if the time has passed. Or I’ll ignore if I’m busy then forget to message back and then there’s too much time passed so to mention it is moot.

I get it, it's happened to me too, it's natural. Just wish it didn't happen so often with her, like she laughed at what I said, sent a photo, I asked something and then she again disappears for a long while. I'll act like that didn't happen haha

So she didn't answer my last text yesterday where I asked something about her photo, today I saw her and she said sorry for not answering i'm so bad at texting. So straight from her mouth. I'm definitely overthinking things with her but I gotta ask her out
