when it really matters, it is always best to tell the truth rather than the opposite which are lies

but then, you do have the in between... not saying something is also an option, especially when it is not really needed

generally speaking, going with absolutisms is not the best idea for most things, lol

If you have nothing nice to say to your spouse, it's best to say nothing at all.

Of course you don't need to go around telling them "Hey honey last night when were having sex I thought about your sister's ass for a while", or "Hey Honey, look at how hot you looked in this old picture of you, now I think you you resemble a farm animal that says Moo!"

Pick your battles very carefully and save the truth for things that are important.

When you open your mouth, yes, tell the truth. There could be times, however, when it is best to say nothing. There are, of course, times when deflection is the better part of valor: "How do I look in this dress?" "That dress looks lovely!"

But, yeah, tell the truth. If there isn't trust, then what is there?
