Look while guys and gals might be almost entirely similar being a guy or a gal is almost an entirely dissimilar life experience. I try to strike up a conversation with you and in your mind you are thinking 'Yet another guy is trying to get my panties down. I might have to call the cops'.

You try to strike up a conversation with me and I'm thinking 'Oh a girl is talking to me of her own free will... maybe that might mean she likes the look of me and there is a chance I can get her panties down'.

I am exaggerating a little but really just 'Hi' tells me you are willing to interact with me.

Another hint is guys don't get compliments from girls very often. If you like something about me and say it then I'll like it. I might be completely noneplussed but I am still going to like the compliment. 'Whats your name' is a good follow on. Oh my you seem to want to get to know me.

The thing you and i have in common at the moment is where we are. So some remark about that makes it easy for me to respond.

As you are a girl I don't think you have to try too hard. Just indicate you are happy to converse with me.

If you go back to your friends and then come back to me that is telling me something.

In short there isn't much you need to do. 'Hi' works. 'Hi i'm Xyz' works even better. Already I know you won't call the cops if I start talking to you.

Ask him "how much does a polar bear weigh". And when he answers "I don't know" most likely, you say "enough to break the ice" "hi, I'm (your name)".

If that doesn't make him laugh he's either not interested or simply doesn't have a sense of humor. And if either is the case why would you want to get to know him. 🤣
