Height matters a lot online where is down to an exact measurement (that may or not be exactly accurate lol) so they see a number and know what it is. However IRL people normally cannot just eyeball more accurately than like 2 inches... plus people wear shoes and stand on uneven ground. Now that girl who is 5ft tall who is googly eyed when a man says he's 6ft on tinder all of a sudden is with a man 5'7" who is wayyy taller than her but she can't tell how tall he is, just that he's significantly taller than her.
