Can you please share your ideas: the texting has slowed down with my boyfriend?

We have been together like for 3.5 months. We used to see each other once a week ( it was enough for us) and talk every 2 or 3 hours in a day. After 2 months he doesn't text me or call me as he used to. I talked to him about this. He says i still love you, and miss you so much, however constantly texting doesn't work for me, if i thought negative things about our relationship, i would tell you already. But, it's obvious that it's slowed down. We are at the same class in college, i see him 3 times a week. Also we go on a date once/two times a week. So, maybe that's the reason our texting is slowed down since this situation has happened since the school started... What u think?

Sorry, we do not go on a date two times a week, i mean i see him personallu every week or every 2 weeks... sometimes we do not go on a date every week.

Here is what has happened. You have passed what is known as the honeymoon phase of the relationship. That is the part where everything is new and exciting, you want to be in constant contact, all lovey dovey, etc.

Once you get past that, things start to normalize so to speak. That desire to be in constant contact subsides and you are in a normal relationship. Nothing wrong with that at all and perfectly natural to happen.

It happened to me with my fiancé. When we first started dating, we were always texting and calling. After a while, it just wasn't necessary to constantly be texting those affirmations of how much we like each other.

Some people move on from that quicker than others. Seems to be the case with your boyfriend. I would not worry or overthink this. Also, in general, my experience is that guys are not big into texting as it is. I know that is true of my SO. Sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get a text back from him. Doesn't mean he doesn't love me.

Omg! Thank u so much for ur comment, i think u must be right. He has already told me that i have still the same place in his hearth, but i just couldn't understand the situation... He has never been into texting but this makes everything clear...

@heartshape33 You are most welcome. Honestly, this is pretty common. You just start to get used to a normal relationship. That excitement passes. That doesn't mean for a second he isn't as madly in love with you and misses you. He just figures that you know that and don't need to be told.

You two are just fine and nothing to worry about at all. My guy is much the same... rubbish texter. I live with it. 🙂

Lol. Also, i know that he hasn't been in a long term relationship before. Maybe 1, 2 times... I'm the longest i guess... The first person he is madly in love with is me.

It's natural to slow down on texting. People text a lot more in the beginning... but once you start real life dating then most texts are about when you see each other again and making plans. Because most conversations at that stage are happening in real life conversations.

Well. This depends. Maybe you don’t need to talk 24/7 anymore and have talked about a lot of stuff.


It depends on how you feel. But you have to remember that he has a life as well. But. Time will tell. If you’re not happy in a relationship and irs just not working out. You can end it. But also remember relationships take work
