Do straight women out there still actually WANT to impress men, be liked by them, or ever have genuine feelings for a man in an unselfish way?

Kind of an oddly worded question I know. I'm not sure of the right syntax or words to make this question, but I thought about this on my way home tonight.

Do (straight) women still give a damn about what men think or try to ever do anything to impress them? Cause it seems like they don't. Online and offline, it seems like the majority of women under 35 these days have these sh*tty entitled selfish attitudes that they deserve to be wined and dined and men can either "step up" and be grateful little paypigs and fin-dom slaves. Or "don't waste my time" as they'd put it. It's such a sh*tty attitude, but it seems like the norm for young women nowadays.

Do women still like men without any ulterior motives attached?

Are women still modest, anxious, or even nervous, around guys they like? Women who want guys to like them and date them? Not just for resources or money, but for the man themselves. And specifically, no, I don't means 10-out-of-10s, perfect Chads, millionaires, and celebrities. But working-class, quality, non-elite men that they happen to catch genuine feelings for.

Do women still get crushes or romances towards normal, working-class, non-elite men? Or is that a thing of the past?

I guess, what I'm asking is, do straight, monogamous, adult women still care about romance and making a good impression on men? (No, I don't care what queer women and sluts think about this.) If they do, I sure as f*ck haven't seen it in years. I would've made this a poll as well, but I want people to actually answer the question.

Yeah I do, I'll wear a nice dress, wear my hair nice, pay extra attention to my hygiene etc but I'm not into make-up and nail polish. I'm more on the plain side I've never been a girly girl. Though I do still like the idea of impressing a man who I'm interested in not just with what I'm wearing, or how I look but also with conversation and a positive attitude towards them.

My late ex I've talked about on here was like that. She was the only woman I ever dated that didn't think in terms of "what can the man do for me and my needs?" She was romantic and affectionate in that way. But most women I've met see dating and marriage like it's a business transaction, so to speak. Like "if he isn't giving me money, or physical protection, or inflating my ego, he's useless to me." I kinda thought for years, this was just the default for women.

They do, but the thing is they want it from the man that triggers their attraction. Women go for broke guys, rich guys, middle of the road guys, but it boils down to what makes them attracted to the man and the reasons can be shallow or more personal.

That is a reason you see women with the bad boy for sex and the average guy for the stability as they got the best of both worlds which makes the Frankenstein boyfriend come to fruition. They want the man that gives the stability and the man that gives them the drama and rush with the bad boy, so you have a concoction of messed up.

So I will say I fall more towards the average guy. Alright income, but I am not a CEO and I ain't broke, but I am just about the area one could expect for the average guy my age. I have landed dates with women that were just as accomplished as me if not more so and they were all attractive in my eyes. Not all of them worked out and that is okay, because it gave me the confidence and knowledge to know I can attract a beautiful and high quality woman at the end of the day. Not as frequently as I liked, but I know I could. I owe that success to a dating coach I came across a few years ago. His teachings work and if you do everything right, you will be able to vet women properly, understand her and keep her interest in you, and have a healthy relationship.

I found a woman a little over two years ago and it has easily been the best relationship I had. It felt natural, easy and mutual.

Women do want to feel they are in a love story, but not like you see from Hollywood. More akin to something they may read from a romance novel and no, not talking 50 Shades of Gray either. When the guy they like comes along, they will want to spend more and more time with him as she grows more attached and in love with him. She will move heaven and earth to get a chance to see him or do any favor he asks as a way to please him. She will make herself look good, do little things for him to brighten his day, may even cook for him. Will want to listen to him and see what is on his mind.

When she starts doing things like that of her own volition, it is because she wants the man and for him to pick up the signals and make the move.

I am speaking from my personal experiences. This is just what I have seen.

I'd say that some do, and some don't.

I think I've been particularly lucky because most women that I currently know seem to take to heart what I think of them and what's their standing with me - not necessarily romantically, but simply as a factor of human relationship. Those women generally try to keep up a healthy deal of goodwill and trust with me, and they fully know that while they can count on me as a friend, they aren't getting money or financial favors from me.

That said, I also know women that don't have those traits, and are quite close to the description you gave - unsurprisingly enough, whenever I tend to hear from them is because they need something from me - for example, when I posted a photo on Facebook with my new auto I had such a person call me to ask for a lift.

Last thing, I'm acquainted with and somewhat friendly with a couple of my wife's friends that work as "company ladies", so to say. Surprisingly enough, those women are extremely straightforward and no-nonsense - I once gave a lift to one of them a lift and she left me money for the gas. My wife lent money for an emergency to the same lady, and she got it back square a day later. Kind of ironic that the women who are professionally paid for their company and expect to be wined and dined as part of their job are the most direct.

I've never been nervous around guys. Mostly because I was athletic and tomboyish so I hung around guys more. I never viewed them as a mystery but when my hormones turned on, I knew what I wanted to do with them. Once I figured that out, I was fine.

I am married now with 1.5 kids and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else, while 3 years ago I was a casual relationship girl. So I guess it can happen to anyone.

However I do see in other girls my age who are unmarried a contemp for men that I find disgusting.

I do think it's harder now to find a genuine connection amongst this new hookup culture, and all these dating apps where people are looking for quick fixes, or don't want to commit to a monogamous relationship.

We also have all these different attachment styles like anxious, avoidant etc. which I think plays a big part in forming authentic connections, as well as whether you want to make an effort to make a relationship work where past traumas, experiences, or issues come into play.

I would say it depends on the kind of guy the woman likes since if a woman likes a guy, she likes him. Usually the entitled women you talked about have no interest in a regular guy, so they're not going to care about impressing those guys but the guys they actually likes. While I do think those kinds of stacys are probably more common among the new generation, there's still women who still care. You'll probably find more on G@G since the people here (both genders) seem to have unusual tastes lol.

And I have caught feelings for guys who aren't my ideal. So I can answer this question.

Let's say average or even below average in certain factors.

As bold as I can be i still do feel shyness around a guy I like. And try to understand and sometimes take his advice.

This above paragraph doesn't for sexual matters, but another example is though I have strong beliefs that pubic hair is healthy and I know a few guys who actually find it erotic, I'd find another method to remove most of the hair if my husband was disgusted by it.

When it comes to people he care about or things he cares about, I also try to be sensitive about that even if it's not something I love.

i think most girls do.. except for maybe 20%. for me at least i do want to date guys and stuff based on feelings (am pretty romantic too anyways) and i do want guys to like me like that if i think they cute, and i do care what guys think about me and want to make a good impression except on the kind of guys i really dont like

Yes! They just usually try not to show it early on because they don't want to look desperate. Same as the men who have genuine feelings for a woman. You don't know at first if it they feel the same way, and don't want to make yourself an easy target.
