How do you deal with an entitled coworker who doesn’t show up to meetings or think rules apply to them?

In that case do what you have agreed to do and don't worry about fulfilling her promises.

People like that are the worst. Well I saw on another post you mentioned that it’s not a paid job, so maybe that’s why she isn’t pulling her weight. Is it obligation that she participate? Or did she volunteer and not really helping?

Absolutely. If you are a member on the team you are expected to do your work since we prepare for a conference. When I ask for updates on the group chat she gets so defensive.

Yeah the other guys I work with just told me I should try to reach out and talk to her. Doesn’t work. She just needs to go.

I don't know how the policy or whatever works at your job, but if you can fire her then if I were you I would. She may hate her job but she needs to do it and if not then make room for someone who will get it done

That’s not it. She’s traveling and doesn’t want to dedicate time to the committee we’re on. by the way it’s a committee for a conference not an actual paid job.
