I mean, kind of yes, kind of no. People tend to voluntarily post everything about themselves online, but that's a choice. If you don't post everything on social media, then your privacy is basically the same as it always has been. How does the internet violate the privacy? If someone was very interested in me and had a fair amount of technical knowledge, they could see what videos I watch on youtube? Knock yourself out.

I don’t think so because for the most part I don’t share anything online that I wish to keep private. And as far as being monitored or tracked, nobody cares what I do lol. Also I paid my way through college by stripping at bachelorette parties so being seen naked doesn’t bother me as it would most.

There used to be protections in place, but ajit pai who was put in charge of the department was paid by big corporations to get rid of it. Politicians have been trying to create a bill to replace it, but there keeps being issues in the way it is written, paid politicians that deny it, and corrupt politicians trying to slip stuff into the bill.

Yes, if I'm looking at something like a widget I will be plummeted with advertisements on that specific widget. If my wife is looking at women's clothing my ads will be pointed towards women's clothing.
