Would you change your hair to date someone?

Say you meet a near-ideal girl or guy who lives nearby or works close to you. She or he is probably a 8 or 8.5 in looks and has 90-95% of what you want in a partner. But you hear she or he is only into people of a certain hair color or hair style. Like, she or he "only likes blondes" or "only dates people with dreadlocks." or "only likes bald guys."

I dated a girl who was like this. She only liked men with my hairstyle; which is a short buzzcut and my natural hair. I didn't have to change it for her, but she was a blonde and I asked her if she'd change her hair to be a redhead, since that's my favorite hair color on women. She didn't text back, but the next day, she showed up as a strawberry blonde, instead of her usual yellow. This didn't mean much though, as she changed her hair every 7 to 10 days anyway.

I've never liked my hair or having to cut it every three weeks anyway, so as long as I didn't have to dye it some SJW color, like green, blue, or pink, I'd be willing to change my hair if it means happily dating a 9 out of 10 lady.

Would you change your hair style or hair color to date someone?

Sure; it's just hair and not that big of a deal to me.

Yes. My guy likes red or jet black hair. I stopped dying my hair after we got together. I also had a short haircut when we met (had my hair to my ass for about 6 years and I wanted my head to breathe). I let it grow and never cut it again.

As for the hairstyle, he's not exactly into a certain hairstyle but he likes it waxed and shining sometimes. I do that.

I also dyed it red a year before our wedding and he liked it a lot. I should do it again sometimes. Red fits me. But it's hard to achieve and maintain a natural-looking red color, and I hate fake-looking red hair.

As for him, I like most hairstyles on him. He changed it a few times in the past 8 years. One thing I like on him is beard, but he gets tired of it after a week or two and shaves (which is okay). I wouldn't mind if he started balding either or if he was bald in the first place.

If you mean like dye it or something, fuck no cause' I would look terrible with any hair color that isn't black or a very dark brown lmao

I've got long hair and I'm not cutting it, as much as it can be a nightmare to manage.

If she wants me to throw a little bit of colour in there or something, like a coloured streak or something or maybe play around with it, whilst keeping it long, whilst I myself was okay with the look, then fine, I'd do it.

That aside, I already put a lot of effort into my appearance and I'd want a partner to be attracted to the end results of my efforts, as well as the fact that I put it in, in the first place.

That they care so much about something like that kind of seems like a bad sign. Honestly that may turn me off of them even if they like the style and color hair I happen to have, because I don't want to date someone who is controlling about appearances.

But if it is just a strong preference and not a requirement, that wouldn't be such a big deal. I could dye my hair, I've never done that so who knows. I could at least try a different style as long as it wasn't short. If it was like a buzzcut I wouldn't do it. That's losing years hair. It would have to be a long hairstyle.

In the scenario, you haven't met the person yet. It's implying you'd only have a shot with them if your hair was a certain style they like and that they wouldn't notice you or be interested in dating otherwise. You can pretend this is their only glaring flaw or negative. It'd be a VERY strong preference, but they wouldn't tell you you *had* to change your hair, because they wouldn't have met you yet.

That makes sense. I guess in that case, I wouldn't dye my hair anything. I would still try if it was just a style and I wouldn't have to actually cut my hair. I wouldn't change my appearance long-term just to approach someone though, because I don't know if they will be interested in me even if I do it. She could still not like me for other reasons because we don't know each other yet, so I don't know if the potential relationship will even happen at all.

I can't commit to a dye for anyone. It's too much work to do right and maintain or it looks terrible.

I also don't like perms or curly hair. If it's just a matter of a pony, braid or hair down, fine.

Depends on how far I am from his ideal look. Eg likes blonde hair.. not for me. Into red hair, maybe I can work with that.

That wouldn't work for my hair, anyway. It doesn't grow out; it just gets nappier if I don't cut it. I could never grow dreadlocks or an Afro.
