A guy I’m talking to texted “I wish I could have cuddles right now.” before we’ve been on our first date. Is a text like that way too soon?

So I met this guy online and have been talking to him for a little over a week now. We’ve talked on the phone/FaceTimed several times at this point. We were both excited about going on our first date in two weeks. I’ve never been in a relationship before and he was only in one relationship that lasted about five months. We seemed to have similar values and views as far as a relationship goes. Is a text like that too soon if you’ve never been on at least a few dates?

Eh, I would be put off by that personally. I guess it depends on the context and comfort level you have reached in talking to each other. Personally, that would be a red flag for me. He is testing the waters of getting physical.

You know what that will lead to, right? Even though you have not been in a relationship before, it is likely his first step to getting in your pants. I cannot know for sure, perhaps he is just extra affectionate.

I would keep that sort of thing at bay until you have had sufficient time to meet him face to face and make sure he is worthy of dating. There is plenty of time to be physical/intimate down the road.

Making that a priority when you have never one out with each other yet is not a good look in my opinion. He should be focused on getting to know you, not getting to touch you. Just my opinion but put up some boundaries and tell him that isn't something you are comfortable with yet.

Depends on the context if he randomly said it that it could be seen as creepy, but if you were flirting and talking about meeting he could also have just been trying to be cute.
