Is it too soon to text him?

We’ve been talking everyday for the past month. We have been on a date that went really well (we watched movies for 4 hours). He didn’t kiss me because my sister was around, but he messaged me that he really wanted to. I went to bed last night and told him goodnight. It’s 130pm and he still hasn’t texted me today. Should I wait for him to text me, or should I bite the bullet and do it? We’re long distance so it’s the only way we can communicate, but I don’t want to smother him. What should I do?
