I have a friend who (I think) is in competition with me. She’s a good friend in some ways but there’s one thing that annoys me. It seems like every guy I like or am talking to or dating she will go behind my back and try to flirt with him. she is currently dating someone I used to talk to. When I started seeing my current, who she’s never met, she found out who he was, followed him on Instagram and started posting raunchy pics on her story. I confronted her about it and she said she just ‘wants to be friends with who I’m dating.’ But I don’t trust it because she’s done it to me once before. How do I stop her?
+1 yI had a mate like this who would try to do the same with women I dated in the past. The best thing to do is to set boundaries in place such as not telling her who you're seeing, lessen contact and don't socialise that much with her anymore. She will start to wonder why you're keeping her at a distance.

+1 yI don’t know why people act like this. It makes no sense to me. I think maybe you should cut toxic people out of your life to the best of your ability.
You might still have to interact with them sometimes. But have boundaries12 Reply
Asker+1 yBecause they have issues

I couldn’t have said it better myself 👍 💯 🎯
+1 yCut ties immediately and never look back. I've done this several times with several "friends" and I don't regret about it.
Toxic friends like that can either influence you, or bring you down.

I would advice you to cut her off completely. That friendship is toxic. I had to cut off people I went to school work with so much competition. Seems like your friend is a narcissist.
- +1 y
I agree that OP's so-called "friend" is a narcissist. I had a friend who was definitely a covert narcissist and behaved in similar ways.
Asker+1 y@Guccigabbana18 I don't know
- +1 y
@Guccigabbana18 Right you can tell right away when they are a narcissist.
- +1 y
Exactly, The red flags are envy, competition, compulsive lying, obsessed with attention and hiding who they really are in public/being two-faced. It's easy to spot once you've been close to one before.
- +1 y
+ a lack of accountability. Watch out @OP, I would stay far away from this girl.

@Guccigabbana18 Yes her friend must be a poser.

Asker+1 yThank you. I decided to ghost her. It's bad, but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of knowing why.

+1 yShe's not your real friend, she's a fake friend. Aka the most problematic kind of enemy you can have.
Real friends don't flirt with the dates of their friends, even if they find them sexy.

Asker+1 yI don’t think she even likes them or wants them, she just wants to prove something to me tbh
- +1 y
Her problem.
Sleep with her boyfriend. Then she'll know how it feels.

+1 yYou don't stay friends with a person like that, period. I can't imagine trying to steal a man, jeez. I don't have many friends but they all know better than this.

+1 yGirllll your friend is envious of you.
Girls do this to each other when they want to prove themselves as desirable as you.
At the end of the day, no one can be 'stolen" just think of her weeding out the people not right for you.

+1 yCut her off completely. She's not a friend but a snake and is probably jealous of you. And people like this rarely if ever change because there's some big insecurity inside them that makes them act out like this

Stabbin' pictures of me with a Bowie Knife
Dreams of strangling me with a scarf
When my name comes up he pretends to barf
I got a million friends
That sounds like your friend.
20 ReplySeems like she had issues with her self esteem. Cut her off from your life until she figures out what’s wrong with her and start acting normal.

Just kidding. She’s a bitch. But why are your men flocking to her? Are you picking her bfs and not yours?01 Reply
Asker+1 yThey aren’t flocking to her. Well one of them did, but the others didn’t. She actively seeks them out to plot against me I guess
Block her on everything. Have your boyfriend block her too.

That kind of behavior never happened with people your generation everyone is nice and friendly to each other. Now a days millennial are jealous and envious with each other it was hell in high school fighting over a parking spot why this person has a better car then I. That never happened in your generation. I bet there were no fights at the time when you were in highschool.
- +1 y
@Alwayreckles93 Woman have always fought over the same minority of top tie guys since the beginning of time. It just seems different to yoy because you haven't really expirienced enough of life to see paterns repeated in generations after you.
