I could understand if being short bothers them, that's not very easy for a guy to deal with and it often does impact their self-esteem.
But the thing I can't tolerate from short guys is when they have Napoleon complex and want to try to control the room. And they often will try to use insults and smart remarks to bring people down so they can feel bigger than the other person, but if you throw it back in their face that they're short, they can't handle it lol. It could be. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a short man, and 5’4 guys can be some of the best. First I feel like a trophy wife next to them, so that’s fun. The average height for women in the US is around 5'-4". If you guys are running into much taller women, then you are seeing abnormally tall women. The average women in the US is two inches shorter than me.
You guys might be living in areas with a lot of immigrants from northern Europe. Immigration to the US comes in waves, from different countries. They tend to settle in whatever areas are growing at the time.
For example in the mid 1800s there were a large number of German immigrants. The upper Midwest was a growing part of the country at that time. So the north central US ended up with a large number of German ancestry who are tall. It's the same reason why you see a lot of beer breweries and watch companies in that area. The Germans brought their trades and their height with them. You can even hear it in the accent in that part of the country.
If you go places along the southern border it will be the opposite, with a lot of shorter Mexican and Central American people.
But no matter where you are, there should still be a significant number of women shorter than me. The average is 5'-4". This has been measured many times in many studies.

Yes I agree but I don't think that's always insecurity. I genuinely believe guys are more attracted to girls who are shorter kinda like how girls are attracted to guys who are taller.
