Why do people even play hard to get?

More often then not people move on. Because many times when someone’s rejected the person rejected them isn’t interested.

If someone is a respectful person they will respect your wishes or not wanting to be with them. They will simply move on.

I have seen both men and women play this game and wonder why someone found someone else.

“Well they want to see if someone’s really into me/them they will chase” that logic right there can be applied to the person rejected. If they wanted me they would have said yes.

Also playing hard to get is a game. Many people looking for something serious aren’t wanting to play games either.

I met a girl (Josie, foreign born but a local resident) online after my long, painful divorce. Although I had no feelings for her other than curiosity and interest, I pretty much laid out a game plan for building a relationship with her. Step one was attending church with her the following Sunday and wedding bells were the final step if things worked out between us down the road. Although she wanted wanted to keep talking online, she used excuses not to meet.

It sounded a lot like Hard To Get to me and I began to explore other options, resulting in renewing my passport and flying to her same country to meet another girl who lived in the same region. Josie knew I was doing that but she thought I was bluffing. When I returned, I told Josie I had met a girl and the future looked promising. It was more than that. I had decided to bring the new girl here on a Fiancée Visa and marry her here, which I eventually did. When Josie realized that I was for real, she was furious with me and had a tantrum, texting me in CAPITAL LETTERS.

Later on, my wife and I ran into her at a cultural gathering and her rage resurfaced. And she is still single to this day. Hard to get is a loser's game. If you get an opportunity with someone who interests you, TAKE IT!!!

I do not know and you are right. When people say NO and we respect that then eventually they will stop the games because no one would be around for them to talk with.

in my opinion it only works with people you don't actually want. If you're playing hard to get with someone you want or simply happen to be unavailable for some reason when they are it's a lost cause.

That's what most women do. If you have guy 1 to 5 with 1 is a struggling guy and 5 is a rich prince and each of them try to hit on her from 1 to 5 then she will go for the 6 guy which is a married guy.

You leave a woman alone and her ideal guy is "fit, 6ft tall, handsome, makes 500k a year, available all the time and perfectly sweet" which is probably about 0.01% of the available male population.

Most men make less than 70k a year, about 5'8 and look a bit obese (population statistics).

The only way to prevent hard to get girls is to actually knock them down their pedestal. They have to believe this is it. They aren't going to get anyone better. Either go single for go with this guy.

A bit like a guy showing up to a fancy party wearing ragged dirty clothes.

Its showing off by placing a handicap on yourself with the presumption that you will be successful anyway.

Of course this only works for top tier competitors.

I feel like women play hard to get more because they enjoy games and drama. They are the one's getting courted more, which means more options. But eventually she is only screwing herself, and not in the good way.
