Girls, would you be open to date a guy who is disabled (cerebral palsy)?

I'm asking because I got cerebral palsy and find dating very difficult

I had a weird fetish with men in wheel chairs. I mean in would only provoke or encourage a sensitive side of me. I’d be completely soft and never have that one wandering thought in the back of my mind- that he could at any time assert his power over me, if we had some kind of heated discussion.

The wheel chair bit is totally fine. They’re no less of a man as any other man. That’s what I’M saying, so other guys and gals who don’t like it can you know- deal with that themselves.

The thing I will add is, I did know only two men in wheelchairs- they had legs removed and were diabetics. Actually- I think both were ex vets

I don’t even know for sure. Thing is, they verbally abused their wives. One argued back, the religious one didn’t as much and it affected her mentally. She even has on-going dementia now. I think that’s what verbal abuse can truly do to a person.

I would love a man in a wheel chair, but I wouldn’t want him to use that as an excuse to not be physically abusive but verbally abusive maybe dude to feeling helpless

because I know a lot of women who feel helpless and verbally abuse their partners.

It’s a sad sight for any of the parties.

I would’ve found it (naturally) only easier to be around a guy who wasn’t verbally abusive or who had total confidence in himself.

Now, with the topic of cerebral palsy. I feel like I seen a movie where some boy had that and he had a girlfriend who cried when he had eventually passed on.

I think the great Stephen Hawking had experienced something vaguely similar to cerebral palsy and I can’t really compare on which would be worse. He was married though, and faithfully married until his passing.

Love isn’t unachievable and we aren’t denied or limited on who we can love.

It just takes a special person to not follow norms or what society puts in their ears.

I think after mentioning the general outlook on cerebral palsy, I am really unsure on how I’d handle it. I was dating a much older guy- I’ll be honest- he was 64, and no- I wasn’t with it for the money. He made me laugh, and I felt safe, and he was adorable. We met through a purely sexual interaction. I went through some phases and decided I didn’t want us both to be 90% sexual engagement all of the time. I felt that I

was being used. For my age and youth.

Sole other bits and pieces as well.

Anyways, fast forward some, and I was describing to him how I didn’t know if I would be able to cope with his passing. I mean- barely had a decent amount of time together- for me I guess it’s just never enough time, and the heart I bear within was just too sensitive. I hate goodbyes. You give someone your heart and when they go your heart isn’t held anymore. It drops. That hurts.

Thankfully for me, in that relationship, the goodbyes were being more frequent because he wanted to spend his remaining days living a life HE wanted. The one he knew for so long without me.

So after such an incredibly challenging and testing lesson of a hardship, I don’t think I have the actual heart to bear another kind of goodbye any time soon with someone I truly found special to me and one of a kind.

I still feel the heart tremors of ghostly aches, as I type this.

I will say, a disabled man is not a put off/ turnoff.

I will ADD: try living your life with contentment engaging earth and hobbies. Travel every part as much as you can. Go on a safari. Encounter lions/ elephants/ giraffes/ koalas/ pandas/ sloths.

See how sloths live 🦥 observe how these slow animals still get the best out of life- it’s not even a good/ accurate correlation, but I drew some of my own inspiration from just watching a dog I had to care for, and seeing how he lived- he just lived 😳

He loves playing and doing tug of war with all dogs.

Dogs welcome each other. They hold no bitterness or drama.

Their lives? Even shorter than us people.

I enjoyed watching him in his own element.

I recommend you try the same for even just a moment.

Watch nature living every single day to the best of their abilities. We say dogs are man’s best friend, and they’re so loyal, but no one teaches them that, and they don’t come out of their mommas looking or hunting for love, they just DO it and offer it when they encounter any friendly creature. Animal or human.

Long response, but I was more concerned with your state of happiness and contentment and joy, than love. Love is just a symptom or the aftermath of happiness being shared.

That is a tough one because cerebral palsy is a condition that cannot be cured and have a seriously reduced life expectancy.

If you are seeking a long term relationship; I am talking 20+ years; then finding a person that is willing to accept that the lifetime relationship that she is seeking may end abruptly.

If the dating prospect is limited to a very few months or years, then I am sure that there are people that are willing to take the risk to date a person with cerebral palsy.

I do have a lot of respect for those that commit to a relationship that is destined to be limited in time.

I keep repeating it. I am not interested in dating and to be honest, if I was a woman that dates, I would have great hesitations to date a person knowing that the dating is limited in time.

I sincerely hope you will find a person that has the character and personality to get over this issue.

When I consider whether to date a disabled guy, I look at facial beauty and personality and the ability to do functional things unrelated to his disability such as earning money with his brain, if it is a physical disability or doing house chores if it is an intellectual issue.

Nope. We can't do 90% of what I enjoy doing, they can't help me around the property where help could be used, I'm not caring for them nor am I allowing their caregiver on my property.
