Because most of the people you’re going to match with. Aren’t the kind of people you’re even really interested in. This goes for both many men and women alike.

Many people might seem good looking and like good upstanding people and you meet them and they turn out to be just total lunatics.

As well as the dangers that come along with it.

Do you feel people are just on there because they’re desperate? Overall.

Not always though it CAN be construed that way. In fact, heck, I used to think that.

Thing is, my older brother met his wife online and they've been married now going on five years.

I think it can work... if you're lucky and both are looking for the same thing. Just like in real life. It can only work if both people are looking for the same thing. If one person just wants sex or a fling and the other wants something serious, then it's not going to work! Same thing if a person was cheating on their girlfriend (happend to me unfortunately). That's the bad part about it so please just be careful with people and don't jump into bed with them right away. THEN, maybe you will have more success if you take things slow.

I'm not sure. I decided to try it because I live rural in a really small town and there aren't any occasions to meet anyone. I do the single thing pretty well and enjoy my own company more than other people generally, so I wouldn't consider myself desperate. But just because you're good on your own doesn't mean you want always to have to be.

That said, so far most of the guys seemed either to want a menu order real-life doll, or are the types who don't really want to try. There's been almost zero effort put into any of their profiles, so I am kind of getting that sense.

Some do for sure but online dating in general can be a useful tool. Certainly I would not use online dating as my only source of meeting people but I have met many great women from Bumble and Hinge and so has my clients. When dating you need to be ready to find someone whether it's online or offline. Too many people use online dating as the end all be all and never look up from their phone to see if anyone is looking at them or even flirting with them.

Online dating should be heavily scrutinized. Women on there mainly go after certain guys and majority of men just talk to bots.
Before Ashley Madison had it's leaks, it was basically a sausage fest because those men were just talking to bots

The fact that you - apparently - haven't had good results with online dating doesn't mean that others don't know how to use those sites effectively to their advantage. I have met many good women on online sites over the past 20 years and had several relationships that lasted a year or longer.

You simply need to select the right site, post a carefully constructed profile, and then know how to talk to women online (hint: it's not the same as talking in person.)

I went on one as I was curious what it was all about this was years ago the men are after nothing but sex and the women are insane, I deleted the account and the app,

I’m not saying all the men are sex mad and all the women are insane but good majority are, and most lie about age, location and workplace, they post fake photos of people who aren’t even them, I wouldn’t even bother going on dating apps or sites as it’s really a waste of time.

I believe so. It is much nicer to see one's desired loved one in person - online dating is to have the, let's call it safe privacy, of not being judged by others nor being drooled over by passers by/other (single of married) patrons - and to not risk being charged for soliciting; all of tgat is seemingly much safer and easier online, though I have not experienced the reality of online world as such - it seemed to be less than ideal (save for speed of uninterupted conversation or the ability if the other party to see my status updates and thoughts/feelings/emotional state I was in).
Which online website are you using/what is your experience with it?
(I'd make it bluetooth and then gps sensing of the person I am looking to see again and lawfully marry - but those platforms online are not my ownership)

No. Not everybody has the ability to spend time socializing like they are still in college. It opens up other opportunities.

With that said online dating has gotten worse with catfishing, flakes, scams, psychos, people just promoting IG profiles, etc.

No. It's because most people are too busy with work to go out dating and because of what dating society has turned into. It's just safer because you can just block assholes instead of worrying about how to get away from them. With more and more people being introverts who don't get out much because it is cheaper to stay home, it is the only option to find other people who are single.

No, I don’t think it’s desperation. We work from home using technology. I know guys who met their significant other online. If anything using online platforms opens more doors potentially meeting someone. Some girls on GAG and in real life are so anti-I don’t want guys approaching me mindset. As a guy, just gotta shoot your shot, have the right intentions and work hard in life, hope for the best.

No. Men do OLD to save time and increase their chances of finding a relationship. Given guys actively have to pursue women, start conversation, keep it going and basically do everything in dating, men really have to consider the amount of time they are investing in any one woman. Especially seeing that ghosting is so common among females.
