Perhaps she mistyped her number feeling all excited about my interest in her?

I thought I rang the number right away but did not really look at whether her phone rang so she'd have my number.

(I don't believe she would have had any reason to stand me up/give me a wrong number - except maybe that I didn't ask her whether I saw her on a bus prior to that evening).
