to put a little context to the title, I met my boyfriend on social media and his friend tried to slide in my DM's before my boyfriend and I were a thing. One day his friend unfollowed me out of the blue and started throwing shade in my boyfriend's memes about me and our relationship.
I don't know how to go about this or what to do, should I talk to my boyfriend about it cuz he might be the one telling him things about us or should I just ignore the whole situation as if nothing happened?

This is a Redflag on more levels than you care to acknowledge and is not something to be ignored. Ever heard of the statement 'Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are.'
This is the universe trying to warn you. The fact that you say '.. or should I just ignore the whole situation as if nothing happened?' suggests you aren't ready to listen.
Tell ur boyfriend be honest and open talk to him and tell him how it amkes you feel. it is not ok
All that shit happens because of socializing through social media.
