Do women prefer men who are working when they are actively dating?

Say a girl is dating a guy is it an issue for the guy to not have a job for her? Some girls like to see men have a job or at least make some form of money but I can't talk for all women. I don't really want to voice my opinion because the choices I have seen women make to some men have made me question the sanity of women.

I think it is helpful to women to be working. They like stability and even self-employed people between jobs or are waiting for shipments for another job... even these guys get grief from a woman. "So, your work is not stable?" kind of things. I have vendor/self-employed contractors that run into this all the time. Why women think one needs a full-time regular job to be successful is beyond me.

I do prefer a man to have a job because it shows that he is working towards possible priorities, and also he is willing to be able to provide quality dates. It shows he has motivation to get up in the morning and attain to responsibilities

As a man, I refuse to date unless I am working.
