Drug Addict boyfriend... how to handle?

He is taking medicine for his hetoin addiction

He smokes maria every day

He smokes crack couole times per month

Im super against all of this

How to behave, i dont know what to do

I won't break up, telling in advane, psychologyst didn't recomnend me cut ties with him but i dunno what do.

That therapist is an idiot. If this is disrupting your life too much to the point where your mental health is going out the window, you are 100% allowed to exit out of your drug addicted boyfriends life. My brother was a drug addict and the one thing he said is he pushed himself to get better and get clean, and that is the only way you will get clean. No one else could help him with that. Your boyfriend is not your life and you are 100% allowed to leave if this situation is doing more harm to you than good.

In some sense, I think I understand why the "psychologist" would suggest that. But as any pseudo science and most of their answers, is that it MAY lead to him spiraling into even greater drug addiction.

The most drastic decision you could make is leave him and tell him that you left because he's a druggy.

A little less drastic decision would be to give him an ultimatum. Either he cleans up, or you leave. Make a plan, lower the drug intake by... I dunno week, month maybe?

What your pseudo science friend forgot to take into account is that his shit actions directly affect your mental and financial well being, and as time progresses it may get even worse. Hell, it might even cause you to kermit sudoku for all I know.

Tie him to the bed for a week and be sure to keep him fed and watered with no access to drugs. (Use protection for feeding and watering because he WILL bite you)


After one week of screaming, sweating, hallucinations, crawling on the ceiling and mild cannibalism he will be normal again.


In all seriousness, your options are to break up with him or start picking out funeral decorations…
