Does being 5’9 narrow my dating options?

It says Im average online but a decent amount of my friends are an inch or two taller than me. I know some people dont care but Im curious about the voting average.

The reason I voted no are as follows. If you try online dating, then yes it narrows your options. Online dating forces us to be superficial and decide our interest based on height, photos etc.

But if you go out and meet people in real life, and form a genuine connection with someone, 5f9 actually isn't a bad height at all. It's a good average height for a man. A lot of women think they can only be attracted to a tall man (because of on online dating and not knowing what 5f9 actually looks), but when they meet you in person at a social setting etc everything changes. Attraction goes beyond height. And women tend to think about that even less at your age. They might say they want a tall man but if you look at who they actually end up dating, they aren't all tall men!! Just taller than them usually. That's all. And most women are between 5f4 and 5f6 (shorter than you still).

Additionally, due to many men online lying about their height, women also forget that 5f9 isn't short! So if they see you in person they might think you are 5f11 cause of the confusion from online dating, making them think this height is short when it's not!

For example... I was someone who thought 5f9 was short. Because I dated a guy who insisted he was 5f10, and yet in reality he was only like 1-2 inches taller than me. (I'm 5f3 1/2). I knew he was lying but it still confused my height perception. On the other hand, I always thought my grandpa to be 6 feet. Because he is a pretty tall guy. He told me he was 5f9, and I had to measure him as I didn't believe him! Rest assured, he was indeed 5f9!!! So that guy totally lied to me. And I think many of them do. So it confuses us woman! So if you meet people n real life as opposed to online I'm pretty sure you're good. 5f9 isn't short!

In the end your character and confidence will often be the most attractive thing about you to many woman. And how you treat her. If you are a handsome man, even better. But even then, looks aren't the main factor that creates the feelings of attraction in women. We aren't as visual as men in that way. It's all about how you make us FEEL. If you make us feel special, and cared for and safe.

I just don't understand why some guys are insecure if the girl is taller, I've dated guys much shorter than I am, and it's never been an issue for me. On the other hand, I actually had a guy I was dating who was about my height (I'm 5'8' in bare feet) tell me he didn't want me to wear high heels (which I love) because I'd be "showing him up". No clue what that even meant, but it didn't work for me. It only narrows your options if you let it, any girl that thinks that way is a pretty shallow girl.

Guys on here will tell you yes, but don’t believe everything put out there on the internet. That shouldn’t be an issue at all except maybe for women taller than 5’9”… There’s quite a few short guys at my job like my height 5’6” and some shorter than me and most of them are married or in a relationship. And hell you don’t have to believe me. When you’re out and about, look around observe/pay attention to people. I see couples of all different types.

No it just helps you end up with someone who's right for you which height wouldn't matter. My boyfriend is around that height. I'm 5'4 which is average for women

Being taller gives you a slight advantage because if all other factors are equal being taller than 5'9" helps and the taller the girl is the more it helps. Being taller even helps getting elected president.

No, I've had crushes on guys who are smaller than 5'9, all because I liked them as a person and was attracted to them. The whole package is what really counts.
