Looks get you through the door, intelligence allows you to stay.

I have dated many beautiful women, and it doesn't impress me. Sure it's nice for a bit. But you didn't do anything, you were just born hot. And often that gets old really quick if the only thing coming out of your mouth is idiotic things.

Intelligence is much more useful and valuable in my opinion.

Most hot people are so used to people kissing their asses all the time, that they develop terrible personalities and work ethics as a result.

Intelligence and emotional maturity are more important but I firmly believe sexual attraction is necessary as well.


That doesn’t mean a guy should hold out for only super-models or women for guys like Chris Evans or Ryan Gosling, etc. If people are genuinely open to themselves about what they find attractive there is a much broader field. It comes down to personal preference but sometimes the less attractive between 2 potential partners is the better pick because of personality traits and intelligence.

Definitely intelligence. When I first meet someone and they are really hot I am very intimidated and turned on but then after about 10 minutes I’m just like ok this is how they look got it. Where as intelligence I get impressed and aroused by every time I see them.

Well it is neither really. Intelligence is often used as a synonym for education. I don't care much. I do expect a girl to be interested in the world around her.

It is no secret men like fine looking girls. But a girl who is beautiful on the outside is not necessarily beautiful on the inside.

In short there are a lot more important mate selection factors than these two. If I had to pick on just these I would look for bright eyes and a good smile.

Depends on what you mean by intelligence. There's academic intelligence, everyday intelligence, and emotional intelligence.

I'd say in order of impressiveness, it'd go (from most to least), emotional intelligence, looks, everyday intelligence, academic intelligence.

I would say looks in general and intelligence only if they can match and challenge me, then that's more attractive. But that can be terribly hard to find and only met one such girl, though she is older and in a relationship. She now is a project manager of one of the Australian Government's particle physics projects. I, myself a physicist and particularly very good at it.
