Would you risk dating a toxic person?

Let’s say they tell you they’re bad and you shouldn’t date them, would you risk it and do it anyway?

nope! I would not spend any time trying to enjoy the company of an unrepentantly toxic personality. I would try to help that person out, if I could. I would do business with that person, as needed. I would not try to develop a friendship.

Now, I would be sympathetic to someone who confided in me that they were worried that they upset people or struggle with relationships etc. I’m not looking for emotionally insecure people to date, but insecurity wouldn’t disqualify you.

However, here we are dealing with a person who has just decided she is going to be toxic and other people are going to have to live with it. That person is dangerous.

Nope. I get why people would say they deserve a chance, but it's not my job to make a toxic person not be toxic and I'm not about to tolerate that behavior. They either need to be a good person, or they can kiss my ass.

I wouldn't. I don't know why he'd be telling me he's bad in the first place. But it sounds like he's trying to get me to think there's going to be a problem if I dated him, and he would probably try to prove it if I gave him the chance.

No I couldn’t. I did that before and it didn’t do me any good trying to help someone who didn’t want help and was toxic mentally and emotionally, toxic relationships aren’t healthy or worth it.

Depends. If I observed it myself, no. If she told me that was toxic, I would probably think that she had just been mistreated and not shown genuine love, and might risk it.

It’s unlikely. I have thrown caution to the wind before…. it was great for a short time but became toxic and required a significant amount of effort to end it….. overall it’s debatable if it was worth it.
