We are long distance now (I graduated and he is still in school) and summer we were long distance too. I haven’t seen him for about two weeks and he asked me to see him at school 2 hrs away. We argued because I made plans to see a girlfriend and catch up while I was down there. He didn’t know I would be there for three days so we got over it. He still was saying time is limited since Wed is a lot of classes.
I saw him from 3:30pm till midnight on Mon, about the same on Tues, and Wed I still wanted to spend time with him because I wouldn’t see him for almost a month.
I was bummed; I asked him out on Tuesday morning but he forgot and agreed to play games w friends for an hour online. We argued how this was hypocritical because he told me not to make plans with people and that we have limited time. Also because I asked him out first before they asked him to play. I didn’t want to argue (we have been for a while) so I let him play while I went to the gym. He offered to cancel or watch tv at the same time, but I didn’t want pitty.
Wednesday, saw him for two hours before last class begins, I ask and he tells me when his class ends. He then called our mutual friend, she was sick, and offered to bring her soup after class. He gets out early, doesn’t text me, goes and plays pool with some girls from class and posted it on snap. Then he met us at dinner and I asked him what was so funny on his phone and he was laughing at this thing he was texting a girl in class. He can text them but not me.
I ended up breaking up with him over this because he really didn’t seem to care or prioritize me. When I was breaking up with him, he said he has his own social life too and that we spent enough time together. I can spend all day with him... I would be gone for weeks and those people are there every day… it ended well, and he said in the future we might be able to get back together.
I love him, I didn’t want to leave, but I don’t think there was any other options. Am I too needy?
