Do you think this guy will call, honest answers please?

There’s this guy I’m friends with and we’ve reconnected after a few years, he moved to another state. When we met he showed signs of being into me, flirting etc and we are connecting online again. The thing is I admitted I liked him and he didn’t feel the same…but he always responds to my txts and seems happy to talk again. I playfully asked him to call me for a chat just to catch up etc and he says ‘Not now but I’ll let you know sometime’ with a smiley face.
SO my question is do you think he will call or he’s just saying that to get rid of me and is not into talking to me at all?

I dont think he's gonna block you or anything, but I do think he's kicking the phone call down the road a bit; it's low priority. Since he's been clear thus far about not having an interest, I wouldn't consider him gaslighting you, but I do think you overplayed your hand a bit. I'd suggest being more mindful of the boundaries in the future, and while it's fine giving him an avenue should he wish to pursue you, it must be his decision alone to do so. If you try to force or coerce it, it'll likely backfire.
