Why is "weakness" attractive in women and "strength" attractive in men and not vice versa? Or do I have the wrong impression?

Because we mammals, not arthropods, human males are stronger than human females, therefore it seen as a masculine trait, also women want an strong genes for their children.

Looking at it from a more primal perspective physical strength in men would mean that he'd be a good food provider, he could hunt bigger animals, more meat.
For women... the only thing I can imagine it's so she wouldn't be perceived as another competitor, a threat.
Viewed at it romantically, so that she'd be the reason why he's willing to put himself through hell.
