Would an ex share their location on social media when they’re dating someone new to make sure you can avoid each other?

He’s from a small town, not from my city but sometimes visits on dates. Guys you think he’d do this as a way to ensure I don’t run into him? Or is it the opposite?

I would file that action under a "he F-ed up" unless he does want you to know he is dating and that he is going to the same places you went to with a different woman. It is a great way to rub your nose in it. He could be trying to make you jealous and get inside your head. It is likely he wants attention and questioning from you.

I can understand messing up once (I presume that’s what you mean by “F-Ed up”?) but he’s done it quite a few times now.

If he does it’s the wrong way to go about it as we’re not in a relationship anymore so it’s only going to push me further away.
