Is it ok just to give up on dating?

I’ve only been in love four times with four men, all of whom really let me down and broke my heart. All the others have just been boring, dishonest, or selfish. My friend Naomi says she likes men but doesn’t see the point in dating someone who doesn’t interest her, when she can’t find anyone who does. I’m starting to feel the same. I was thinking, if I don’t fall in love with any of my long distance web pals when I meet them in person, or anyone from meetup, is it ok just to give up on dating for good?

Just meet people in real life. And when you get to know someone who can be a good candidate, then date him.

Is this person someone I would be proud of having as a fiancee?

And I only engage sexually with them if the answer is a clear yes.
