So at work there is this girl that I've been very attracted to and interested but always was terrified to approach her for a variety of reasons. I saw her staring at me a few times before. I approached her last year but she was in a relationship. We work in different departments so I very rarely run across her. I've said hi to her twice in passing before that and she seemed pretty friendly. So at work I saw her outside in the yard in her company vehicle, so I just said fuck it and walked up to her. I got tired of waiting for the perfect moment and I knew if I didn't do it now it'd be another few weeks or months before I see her again so i just wanted to get it out the way. She had her car door open and was leaning over the passenger seat writing stuff, she did look kinda busy. So the conversation went like this.
Me: Hey excuse me
Her: Hey
Me: Sorry can I bother you for a quick second?
Her: Sure
Me: What's your name?
Her: Brittany
Me: Hi I just wanted to ask you a really quick question
Her: What's up?
Me: So I just been seeing you around here and there
Her: uh huh
Me: And I just wanted to ask if you would want to grab some coffee someday?
Her: Ooh lool
Me: it's cool I'll leave if not lol
Her: I'm in a relationship been in it since 5 months ago, but don't ever be too afraid to approach anyone lol
Me: I won't lol
Her: I've been single for 8 years and I always see guys too afraid to approach and I hate that, like it's ok haha
Me: Yeah I see what you mean lol
She was grinning at me afterwards and I didn't want anything to be awkward, so left.
So I waved and said well alright then, and she waved back and had this really huge grin on her face. Then I turned around and waved again and said have a good one, and she grinned a little harder. It seemed genuine since it reached her eyes.
I dated other girls since then, but now since it's been a year she's been single for awhile.
Should I try again? Do you think I might have a chance?
