I dateD a guy like this and after a lengthy process which should have been quicker- we both drifted- I finally had the nerve to let it drift on my side and let us mirror each other's feelings in our situationship, and then I eventually blocked him on social media.

Best thing for me- I tell the story like some Viking who survived a brutal winter and a perilous raid/siege.

I suggest you do the same; not downplaying you- but clearly he is not the original in this. Many guys like him, AND him have had theigh tough blows (punches) in life, and while that's true, it's NO excuse to treat other people and especially other females in such a manner.

He copes as being a player, and you are one of the girls he didn't have feelings for and led on. That's how these types ALWAYS do it. They'd never end it.

They either feel empowered by it, OR they feel as if they could never end it because they always see themselves as a "good/ nice guy..."

they're not- and 'nice' isn't unmoving or a destination- it's constantly fluctuating and it's a journey; a never-ending, life-long, continuous learning and striving, kind of process.

Moving past him will be the best thing for you, and I hope you can see this truth so you can handle it properly and find someone more deserving of you and vice versa.

You deserve better, and you're somebody else's better; some really NICE guy deserves you, and this old news biash, DOES NOT DESERVE YOU, and has mistreated you.

Don't overthink it. DOn't second-guess it. Resonate with it, and realize it, and then move on from and because of it.

To be honest with you.. according to your description, he doesn't say it's over because he's still using you. He likes the benefits he gets from you or in some cases, looking for replacement. When someone treats you like shit, 💩 and respect is no longer served, be the first to break up with him, don't wait for him.

Break up with him while you still have the chance. Question for you, would you be happy going over and over the same thing again? You deserve to be loved and cared for, so know your worth and don't be afraid to walk away.

Girl the same thing happened to me.
He's forcing you to breakup with him and he wants you to because he's scared to do it. It seem like either he's trying to be a shitty boyfriend in hopes you'll realize he's shitty and breakup with him, or those are his true colors and he really is just a selfish shitty boyfriend. Either way you don't deserve what he's doing to you. in my opinion you should just end it by being straight up, tell him he's hurt you too many times and you don't deserve that (because you don't) or do what I did and stay with him until you're emotionally drained.
Breaking up with him will hurt at first but ultimately you'll be happier, just get past the three week mark once you breakup (it takes three weeks to break a habit) without talking with him. You'll get through this.
