Someone asked you out. They picked you up. Drove to a parking lot. They parked the car and pulled out 2 crustables and 2 bottles of water. Gave you 1 of each. After ya ate they took you home.

I wouldn't call that a date, in the first place?

To me a date is seeing if the person wants to grab a coffee or tea, head to the park and walk around together. Get to know one another, maybe sit on a park bench and chat some more.

If we decide on a snack I would ask her what she likes and maybe stop by and get her something. Especially, if she came from work and is on her lunch or if she works late and is on her break.

If things go well on the 1st date, I would ask her out to restaurant to have some dinner when she was available one night. My treat, as it would give me an opportunity to get to know her better.

probably. could easily be a case of she had limited funds or even wanted to test the waters of how much of a personality vs caring about her money situation. the whole point of the 1st few dates usually is to get to know the other petson, not their wallet. also its better to not go extravagant from the start setting up for possible disappointments in the future. in fact trying to do all that fancy stuff out of the gate when you ain't got that much money all the time is starting things off on a lie too.

Honestly I might lol. Maybe not a parking lot, but like sat in a parked car somewhere with a nice view. Had a shitty cheap little lunch over a good conversation. I’d be down. The whole point of a date (at least the first few) is to find out if you get along with them. I’m not expecting people I hardly know to go out and spend a bunch of money on me. I am just asking them to be worth my time. And if they are, then fuck yeah, I’m down.

Probably not. That's not an interesting date. Maybe there are mitigating circumstances, though, and maybe there's something about her that I'd be willing overlook a suboptimal first date for.

Is there talking involved? Lol! This seems really cheep at face value but I have done similar with friends as a hey let’s chill and I got this snack too if you want… I can’t imagine actually intending it as a full dare… unless just to chill with your “friend”

Tailgating before a football game, concert etc is fine but having what is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with water in a random parking lot and considering that a date would make me feel low. The other reason I would feel low is no mention of a conversation. I would think to myself is this what my life is now. I then would have to reevaluate my life. They could be testing me out to see what I value. It could also come across as one of two things. Them being extremely cheap or are in a low place financially. I could not be with a cheapskate or start out with someone who is in a liw place financially. If I was with them for a certain amount of time and something happened where we got financially hit hard then I would stay.
