Would have a first date at a fast food place?

Just wondering.

My mother told me that one of the first dates she had with my father was at a McDonald's. Now it has the reputation of a low-class place, but back then (1994 circa) it had just arrived in our country and it was considered flashy and cool. She said she was extremely impressed and that date is one of her happiest memories.

Sure. If she’s willing to go to a fast food restaurant w you on a first date I think that says a lot about her. More so that’s she’s really into you, that you could say let’s go night fishing and chances are she’d still go because she likes you. Not what you can give her other than a wonderful experience. But that would be hard to pull off as a lot of women are materialistic. In my eyes she's a keeper. Of course we’d still go somewhere nice, but that just tells me she is willing to go w me anywhere cause she likes me, she likes us. And I like that.

I can see it being a novelty thing for your parents as it would be the new fad to try. Nothing wrong with that.

I guess we are somewhat desensitized by all the fast food places like McDonalds which have been around for your years, so we don't think of it that way.

As for me, I prefer to go somewhere else, but, if the person I am going out with has a limited palate, then I don't mind going to a fast food place.

Depends on which fast food and which location. I'd go to ones that require a car to get to so as to avoid a bunch of kids.

At my age, I rarely patronize fast food establishments. I would never suggest that for a first date.

I would at Taco Bell or Pizza Hut. At least the food is good. When I go to restaurants I pay three times as much for trash food that I am lucky to eat 1 item and throw the rest away. Restaurants in my experience just sell expensive garbage food.

i wouldn't care if we spent time at a mcdonalds as part of a first date , true its not really seen as a spot to take a date but a first date is more about getting to know someone anyways so location doesn't really matter as much as people think it does and we can always go somewhere more exciting if we have a second date right?

That was then, now is today. There ARE no flashy, or new, fast food joints, and they're not novel at all. I'd never take a first date there, that's so low class.

No, I consider it tacky. McDonald's has been in the U. S. way before I was born since its where it originated. Its just not a good and thoughtful place to take a date in the U. S. Still, I can see where your mom is coming from since they just opened up where you live and there was a Different Perception of it.

No. My first couple of date are going to be coffee dates. That usually weeds out the foodies. After that we go somewhere halfway decent, Outback at a minimum.

Yes, I would. But I would like to pick one that has outdoor seating. Because I think eating outdoors is more pleasant.

I've compared prices, and you can go to a nice diner and eat for the same price and actually have a decent menu.

To be fair, I took notice that if you don't get the basic items but get a McD menu, you can spend almost 20€ - while there are restaurants that offer work lunches with healtier and fuller meals at 16 or so.

Fast up to a point, because sometimes there's quite some wait time.
I have a friend who practically just eats McDonald's for work lunch, and he has arranged it so that it's always delivered to his office.

I do food deliveries and it's very popular. At first I thought it was just a Covid thing, but I don't think so. Delivery of all products are very popular.

I wouldn't. My first date with my girlfriend was bowling because she likes to bowl. I am kind of indifferent about it. I mean it can be fun, but I'm not that good. I once got a 36 (total) while bowling.
