Why do people go on dates when theyre about to move away?

Are they just looking to fill their serial needs in the meantime? I mean why waste my time if you're just moving away because you can't do a long distance relationship. Or at least I'm not going to do that.

This like the first or second date they mention this too. I think I can recall at least 5 or 6 girls doing this to me
