Do people frequently go on dates when they aren't ready?

I constantly meet women who have emotional baggage and it's like why are you even on a dating site if you aren't ready? It seems like no matter where I meet a girl it's the same thing though.

@On_cloud_wine an example would be this girl girls boyfriend died and she said she had been on tinder for 2 months and hasn't gone on a date. So why would she suddenly go on a date with me? I scheduled a date anyways bit didn't hear from her for 4 days after that so clearly she wasn't showing nor did I have high hopes she would
