Do you find it a turn off when people are too eager to date?

I sure do. Desperation is not attractive and it puts you in a difficult situation cos you don't want to hurt them, but you don't want to lead them on either.

Not so much because they were too eager to date me, but because they seemed so persistant to constantly force the relationship and not actually get to know me. It makes you feel like they want any old girlfriend ... It's the flipside of the guys who dont' get to know you because they just want to hookup. Some guys don't get to know you because they want a girlfriend so badly. Either way, you feel like you're being pushed into doing only what they want.

Yes. Desperation is not attractive. If a guy was really eager to date, I would be inclined to think it was really me he was into but just dating in general. If you don't want to hurt them and also don't want to lead him/her on, you should just tell them they are a great person but you aren't interested in dating him/her.

I've been on the opposite end where I really liked a girl, came on a bit to strong and done stupid stuff(like ask her friends if she's dating anyone, ask her if she's dating anyone) and she put me in the "Friend zone" to avoid hurting my feelings.

I guess I gotta learn to calm down and let her come to me. -.-

Why does desperation turn girls off more than it does guys? how would you feel if you have been single your whole life?
