Is it harder for you to get over someone that you liked but never dated?

For me it is harder.

I’m talking about cases where you were attracted to someone and would have liked to date them, but werent able to because the other person had to leave and you werent able to see them again anymore.

for example, being in college and liking someone from class, but they relocated and you never saw them again.

It’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Meaning, I think if you fell in love with someone and broke up, it you at least had a relationship with that person. If you fell in love with someone and chased after a relationship and never obtained it, it may be something you have a hard time getting over.

I think your theory is right. I speak from experience. It may be harder to get over someone who you never got the chance to be with. “What could have been” may be something that always crosses your mind.

I had a crush on a girl who was about three years younger than me and went to the same church in 1999 through 2003. I never dated her as she was moved to another church and was with someone already. I did get over as when she visited our church and she was with her husband who was tall like 6'2 and her new born baby in 2004. I just had to accept the fact that she wasn't into me physically and sexually.

Well in some ways I think it could be. You have to get over a person who in many ways is still a fantasy and not a real person with flaws. When you date you begin to see who the "real" person is...

Yes. Everyone else i can get over in a week or a matter of days, but these two childhood crushes that got interrupted due to things we couldnt control at that age... totally not over them

Its easier for in that situation cause it's easier to convince myself that they're out of my league and I'm not worth their time

Very hard, especially when u fall for them madly and deeply. If you are loyal to someone, it is very difficult to forget that person.

Kinda of but makes it awkward when you have to see them every week and they know your feelings for them.
