Does any one find it anoying when men point out that they are married without us showing the slight interest in them?

I keep seeing men playing with tgere wedding rings on purpose and telling me they are married. Those are complete strengers in gyms trains even GPs. They are often super ugly and way older than me and i would have never even though of the possibility of liking them in that way.

What is wrong with them and why do they do that?

I play with my ring a lot, even when no one is around, its not any sort of signal, just a fidget toy.

But if I see a situation where I think a woman might possibly be interested in me, I might give a very gentle signal that I'm not available, to avoid her saying something embarrassing. Honestly just trying to be polite

Thats the thing if she wasn't interested in you and just wanted to be friends she will feel insulted. Men seriously need to stop thinking every woman who speak to them is attracted to them.

Maybe I wasn't clear- I only give subtle signals if I have reason to think she is interested.

If the women is not a complete idiot she will notice the subtle signal and get what you trying to hint. If she isn't into you she will find it rude. I know most do. Especially when the man who doing it is ugly arrogant and twice our age.

To be clear, playing with my ring, is not a "signal", its just something I do. But for example when I was on a business trip and a woman sat next to me at the bar,, we started talking. I travel a lot so we were talking about interesting trips. So rather than say "I went to Borneo a few years back", I said "My wife and I went to Borneo a few years back". Is that something someone would find offensive?

It's only offensive I think if she can pick up that it's a hint. Tbh I mainly hate it when a man flirts with me first they hint that he is married as if I am the one flirting with him. As for the playing with the ring it can also been seen as a hint. I remember going into this private gym and sitting in a public jaccuzy where a fat old man was sitting. I didn't even notice him until he started playing with his ring to hint he was married. I was 19 at the time he must have been in his sixties.

It is too bad that playing with a ring is seen as a hint. For me its an unconscious fidget toy, I'm usually not aware that I'm doing it. (but I have lost 2 rings...)

I don't think it's always a hint. Just in that case it was a hint and a rude one because I was paying a lot for this gym membership and wanted to chill in the jaccuzy and the fact that this fat old man was in there doing that was anoying. Why would you need to play with your ring in a jaccuzi. I think the telling a woman that you are married thing is rude as well because there is no point rejecting someone where there is no need for it. Either the woman doesn't know that you are married so she doesn't know you enough to be interested in you. Or she knows you are married so isn't interested in you. I have had cases where two men have flirted with me like crazy and when I started showing a small interest then they told me they were married but kept flirting with me. I have also had a case a church when I was just looking to chat at the end of the service. I chatted to this man for 5 minutes before he told me he was married. Another case was some police officer telling me this. I have even had a case of a GP saying it. Why would I be interested in my GP. If he thinks one of his patient is interested in him he can just ask another GP in the surgery to take on my file. Men can be very arrogant sometimes.

Lots of people play with their rings when they’re just bored. For some it’s a havit like shaking their legs or biting their nails. It’s also something people ofte. do when they’de nervous or thinking about their spouse. I also remember reading that some men do it when they see someone attractive, as like a way to unconsciously remind themselves they’re married.

Men do that to show women that they have a ring. Like to say to them why are you looking at me or talking to me i am married.

Yes I do!!! It's like an insult --- boy dont insinuate that I'm a home-wrecker or assume I'm looking at you like that. I think they do that because they have to remind themselves they're married... seems like they're the issue.
