If she wears a hoodie on the first date, do you feel it shows lack of interest?

I was taking to a male friend of mine. I was going out on a date and a friend advised me to tears jeans and a hoodie.

My male friend says that wearing a hoodie is almost like you’re going out on the date to just go out and not really interested enough to care more about how you look. He said it’s not that I need to get dolled up , dressed up and fancy at all.. but a hoodie just doesn’t show much interest. It’s too casual. He said after a few dates that yes, it’s totally appropriate… but a first one.. it’s a solid no.

I don’t agree. I think you should wear what you want to wear. Some girls enjoy getting dressed up and some don’t. So be yourself.


If someone isn’t into you…. Maybe it isn’t meant to be. You can’t make every guy like you. You know your intentions and if you’re genuinely interested then he’s wrong. If you’re not well…. Maybe it isn’t meant to be

No I disagree, I personally like how adorable a woman looks in a hoodie, actually hope my date gets cold so I can lend her my hoodie and she can look adorable the whole day, different minds think differently I guess

I think it depends on her personality. I wouldn't begrudge her for wearing a hoodie if it's chilly. I can see his point of view. But if she's wearing a hoodie and is still super engaging then what does it matter? He's dating her, not her outfit. The good news is, now you know. Next time on a date maybe say, "I know I'm a bit dressed down, but it's cold out. If he don't get that then who cares what he thinks.
