Why is dating so hard?

Okay for reference, I (17F) have been trying to date people a bit more, especially recently since I wanna get myself out there. It sucks because the only guys who seem to be interested in me are younger. This is a major issue because from what I've experienced, younger guys don't know how to have a somewhat mature relationship and either do guys my age. Should I just wait to date people til college? I genuinely have no idea what to do.

You don't have to date anyone. I barely go out of my way to talk to a girl or respond to those interested in me. It's not due to fear, but I am just busy and not always looking for it. If I meet a girl and we have chemistry, then I'll go for it. I just live my life and let whatever happens, happens. It's apart of why I am happy being single, but also I'm just happy due to the lack of drama.

However, if you do want to have fun dating, then mix what I said with putting yourself out there. Just start showing subtle interest in guys you like even if it's just their appearance, but let them chase you if they're interested back, so you're still tipping your toes in the water. Just don't be desperate about it and do too much, since guys pick up on that.

Well, if you're underage where you live, it cuts down on your dating pool, although I doubt anyone cares if an 18 year old dates a 17 year old.

I don't know why people find it so hard. The only hard part for me was deciding what guy to go on a date with.

I'm 2 decades older and I'm having the same problem of not finding a match.

It doesn't get any better, It just gets harder as the number of single people your age that you relate to gets smaller and smaller each year.

I've tried everything, and I can't find the type of woman I'd want (that is not already taken, or outside the US).

Probably because you're 17 but that said my only dating was when I was 16 but that is legal here not sure about your location

Because most people have an aversion to honesty. Whether the dishonesty is out of fear of judgement or whether dishonesty is just ingrained in them it breeds distrust. You cannot have a healthy relationship without trust.
