Been on two dates with this guy, I'm 23 and he's 30. Things went really well. He'd message after each date, even when he's working. He got busy with his project and 3 weeks later he initiates a 3rd date, which few days later he had to cancel because he got the flu. Haven't heard from him for like a week now. A part of me wants to check in on him, maybe offer to make soup n drop it off. But I don't want to seem like a push over. My friends are telling me to just wait, and he will give me a day n time. But I'm kinda confused ahah

everything he's stated seems reasonable. if the 1st two dates went really well, there's no reason for him to string you along. it's entirely plausible that he is busy with work, some projects do need undivided attention and he's fallen onto some bad luck with the flu.

that being said, checking in on him would give you the answers you're looking for

Having the flu can really knock you about. Some people are stuck in bed so I say wait a little longer but I also say send him a message just asking how he is feeling
