Is a 16yr and 22 yr age gap appropriate?

So, I'm 16 years old, and I met a guy on here who is 22 years old. He doesn't know anything really personal about me. We live in the same country and province. He is really nice and likes me for me. When I mentioned it to another guy who is also 22, he said it is so wrong and that I should block him. But I feel very confused about the situation and I need advice. What should I do?

I'm sorry but that's not right. At the age of 16 you're underage and he's already an adult. In a few years it won't matter, but now it's a big deal. You can still talk to him, but dating him would be wrong, at least for now.

Thank you. I talked to one of my guy friends who is 19, and he agreed it is wrong, especially on the guys part. I've decided to stop talking with him.

It’s weird. That age gap isn’t significant compared to others but being underage makes all the difference. if he doesn’t know anything personal about you than no he doesn’t like you for you.

that being said though if you really really really like him, he really really likes you, and he's a green flag aside from being a little sussy you could go for it. it's weird but its not criminally weird since your done with puberty and stuff and he's just 22. its still kinda in the same age range so still excusable

i dated somebody who was 17 when I was 22. I met her at a party hosted by a friend wfom college. I had no idea she was still in high school until it was too late. I decided it was okay to date her but i could not have sex with her.

It's a 6 age difference, what is wrong is that you aren't an adult so you have to be careful. You talk as friends until you reach 18 to pursue what you two want

If the age of consent where you live is 16, then you might get away dating someone no older than 19 in the eyes of the law in most countries. Older than that then guy could get into serious trouble.

It’s not the age gap it’s because you’re 16 but that might be legal in your country so it’s just the maturity difference in your stage of life but it could work but maybe you’ll have to take it slow
