According to studies it's said you should be in a relationship with someone for at least 4 years before proposal because that's how long it takes to get to know someone properly and it's said that people that wait that long have a higher chance of being in a healthy marriage

That really depends how much work the girl is putting in. If she puts forth minimal effort, then it's going to take a very long time. It's like if one person tried to build a skyscraper by themself. It would take 100 years to finish it.
