Is it possible to love two people at the same time?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for one and a half years, I love him a lot and he convinces me that he loves me even more. I recently found out that he's been stalking his ex girlfriend. I confronted him about it and he said he misses her. He confessed to talking to her anonymously since last year Dec. He says he loves both of us and he wants space to figure out things since I told him I can't continue being with him if he's still with her. This situation is confusing to me.

Seems the wrong question because even if he can, that doesn't work for you. Is he going to provide emotionally and financially for both you and your offspring and her and her's? no, so it doesn't matter.
He needs help sorting out why he loves her and resolving that relationship.
A person can love someone not good for them and relationship may not work. There's a reason she was an X.
I've been hooked don the wrong persons where relaitonship was void, others have. people can get stuck. Talking to the X though while being with you, that's crapoloa.
