If I didn't drive her home and make sure she's inside safely I have her call me letting me know she's home.

yea driving her own is the best option but sometimes you may not be available in person to do so

When I was dating I always picked her up and dropped her off. If she surprised me and just showed up I made her call me when she was inside her house. If she was 10 minutes late I called her.
