Yes, they are, and for good reasons.
First, the courts are VERY biased in favor of mothers, even when the father is a good father to his kids. So when you see a single father there is little doubt that the mother was either a complete loser, or she died.
Second, in the majority of cases when a woman ends up as a single mother it was due to very poor choices. She either had sex with a man she was not married to or with a low quality man she didn't know would stick around to be a father to their children (those men are obviously assholes too). There are also many women who choose to be single mothers, which is despicable given the overwhelming evidence that fatherless children of both sexes are severely disadvantaged in many ways. I can't imagine a more selfish choice than a woman choosing to be a single mother.
And third, studies show that single fathers do a much better job at parenting, and with better outcomes, than single mothers.
Women pretty much have all the rights when it comes to reproduction, and with those rights come responsibilities. Today's women are increasingly not taking those responsibilities nearly as seriously as they should, which has devastating consequences for society as a whole.
@nastyb No, courts favor mothers because of sexism and outdated beliefs. If courts made their decisions based on facts, fathers would get custody more than mothers.
The facts show single fathers do a much better job of parenting than single mothers. Children raised by single mothers are at a significant disadvantage compared to children raised by single fathers.
"It’s extraordinarily well-documented how much of a disadvantage children from single-mother households have over children whose parents remain together, but less well-documented is how much of a disadvantage they have over single-father households."
medium.com/.../single-father-households-do-vastly-better-than-single-mother-heres-the-real-reason-why-8a7fd7c5611d
www.fixfamilycourts.com/.../
The facts are out there and easily available. But it's up to you whether you actually want to educate yourself.
@nastyb There is a grain of truth in that, but it's certainly not the whole story. The other half of it is that women often choose to breed with low quality men who they know will not stick around to be a good father to her child if she gets pregnant. Women have the vast majority of the power and rights in reproduction, and with that power and those rights comes the responsibility to make good choices. And yet sooooo many women are making horrible choices today that harm their children and society. We need to start holding women accountable for those choices and stop blaming it all on "deadbeat dads". Yes, men have some blame here too, but it is largely women's choices that are driving the single mother phenomenon that we see everywhere today.
And speaking of deadbeat dads, deadbeat moms are far worse. If you Google it you there is overwhelming evidence that mothers are far less likely to pay the child support they owe than fathers are.
And thanks to feminism, there is also a very cavalier attitude among women today about being a single mother. Many women see fathers as unnecessary and choose to have children without a father. In fact, many of them don't even tell the father he has a child, which is despicable. Can you imagine anything more selfish than depriving a father of the experience of being part of his child's life, and depriving the child of ever knowing his or her real father? There are cases when that is warranted, but far too many where it isn't. Do you know how prevalent paternity fraud is today? It's disgusting.
But the real question here was why single fathers are more admired than single fathers, and the simple and irrefutable answer is that single fathers make significantly better parents than single mothers do.
men abandon their kids because they are not designed by nature to be parents. men are not designed to be nurturing and caring which is why most men who have kids out of wedlock end up abandoning their children.
[ The other half of it is that women often choose to breed with low quality men who they know will not stick around to be a good father to her child if she gets pregnant. ]
here you admit that most men are low quality which is why most single parents are women. If men are better parents than women, then why dont men make up 90% of single parents?
why would courts hand over a child to a men if they have such high rates of abandoning kids?
[Can you imagine anything more selfish than depriving a father of the experience of being part of his child's life, and depriving the child of ever knowing his or her real father?]
thats a good question to ask men who abandon their kids... not the single mothers who decide to raise their kids. No woman can control what a man will do.
You're both wrong. Courts favor the children. Whatever decision is made is made because thats the one that least disrupts the child's life. Mothers tend to do most of the work involving children, they get the custody because it means the childrens routine stays more or less the same.
@Smashingdoozy
why do you think mothers do most of the work involving children? BECAUSE WOMEN CARE MORE!!!
Mothers have ALWAYS DONE MORE. why do you think vast majority of single parents are women? women do more!!!
@Smashingdoozy
women love their children more. mothers have a special connection to their children that fathers simply do not have. This explains why moms care more, do more for their kids. Kids also tend to be more attached to their mothers than fathers.
Yep kids are more attached because mom feeds them, helps with homework, bathes them, tucks them in, reads them stories, picks out their clothes, cleans their room, takes them to school, picks them up, rinse and repeat..
@Smashingdoozy
nowadays, vast majority of mothers in america work full time jobs while doing MOST OF THE HOUSEWORK AND CHILD REARING DUTIES for their families.
It might explain why women initiate divorce more than men. Studies also show that married men live longer healthier lives than single men. But married women do not necessarily live longer lives than single women.
@Smashingdoozy
studies show that men benefit from marriage the most.
@Smashingdoozy
courts know wayy more than you. And I'm sure thats not the only factor that goes into it. They're experts that handle matters like these.
@Smashingdoozy
do you really think courts will risk handing a child to a subpar parent?
courts know its very common for men tend to abandon their kids. Courts know a man's tendencies. From my experience, if a man has a child with a woman out of wedlock, there is usually over 90% chance he will not care at all about the child.
@Smashingdoozy
I've been around. There are plenty of kids in the US growing up completely without the presence of a father. By this, I do not mean he is divorced so visiting the kids once a month. I mean he's permanently gone. And I think the courts are completely aware of how common such situations really are.
@Smashingdoozy
And it makes " fatherhood being seen as a necessity" quite laughable. when you take a look at the sky high record number of kids growing up without fathers in the US. Everyone knows or has known a few kids who grew up without fathers.
@nastyb again I don't disagree. I was just saying that it isn't the only consideration courts make and the main one is what is best for the children. Often times that is the mother. But like the situation with my friend, if they had of gone for custody to the mother then my friends daughter would be in the custody of a person she doesn't know at all. My friend was the one taking care of her every day so he got custody.
@Smashingdoozy
because usually courts know the father is not the best for the children... they know perfectly why.
@Smashingdoozy
there is actually an old chinese song that is sung in preschools: "there's nobody in this world who would be as good to you as your mother"
@Smashingdoozy
When I was younger, I used to wonder why fathers weren't included in the song. But as I got further into adulthood, I finally understood why.
I can think of one choice more selfish: abortion. And it usually fails to bring the prosperity it promises, because those women then refuse to make the necessary other lifestyle changes to not have to go back to Moloch's well. So then they have neither children nor money, and deserve neither!
That aside, forsaking a child's father out of some sort of prideful "I don't need him" conceit, without regard for what the child needs, is pretty selfish and shortsighted.
@Smashingdoozy : Courts favor what makes the court rich. Which is why so many courts are now basically engaging in child trafficking. Stealing kids from valid families on absurd charges, and then putting them in dangerous foster homes, and drugging them into conformity. This has happened hundreds of times in North Dakota alone.
@nastyb : It's an absolute crock to say that men aren't wired by biology to be parents.
However, we do live in a post-LBJ, anti-God society that encourages self-indulgence of adults and their desires even at the expense of children, along with malicious forces hellbent on infecting us with Kate Millet's disease to further destroy the nuclear family.
So naturally, male deadbeats get better press coverage, while the distaff counterpart has to be really over the top as a monster mom to get featured.
However, Kate Millet's disease has had other consequences, such as men with strong parental instinct being condemned for it by indoctrinated ignoramuses who equate strong male parental authorities automatically with pedophilia, solely because of their anatomy, while often turning a blind eye to actual expressions of actual pedophilia by actual perverts, or even idiotically virtue signaling support for them!
When an angry, nasty woman curses out her own children for begging for candy in the gas station, nobody bats an eye. But when a loving father tells the same child, in a kind voice, that he's not buying that candy bar, because there's already a better one waiting at home, he's treated like a monster.
That, to me, shows that society is beyond sick!
@ObscuredBeyond
because reality is... A LOT of men abandon their children. From my experience, there is a 93% chance a man will abandon his offspring if it was a child that was born out of wedlock. There are a lot of men who get away with not being there for their kids by simply paying child support. Paying child support is not a form of fatherhood. And its disturbing how common this actually is. It is SO COMMON that has become an accepted part of society. Nobody complains or criticizes these deadbeat dads.
In the past, I have met grown adults who told me that their father abandoned them when they were little kids. Or sometimes the father would disappear while they were little kids then show up again after they are grown adults. Some others would tell me that they've barely met their father- maybe seen him 4 times during childhood.
Very rare is a situation where the father had passed away.
@nastyb : If he doesn't even know, then who was it that failed to inform him?
Also, I can't abandon kids that were never born in the first place. Though I have walked away from women who'd proven they were unworthy of my seed, and of the chance to ever be a mother to any child of mine. Can't abandon what never existed.
@nastyb : It's also very possible that the mother DROVE him away! In which case, both are to blame for the end result. There are plenty of irresponsible women who, upon becoming pregnant, suddenly decide to keep the child, but forsake the child's father, often for very selfish and idiotic non-reasons.
In fact, there was one case where the mother became so pigheaded about this, that she started openly defying court orders for his visitation rights to his child, after she divorced him for a stupid reason.
When she and her parents feared that she'd get jail time for continuing to defy court orders and deny him the right to see his own child, a child he was paying good money to support, the girl and her parents went to the black market and purchased the most high-velocity sniper rifle the market had to offer. They not only blew his head off; they put holes in the walls of three other houses, endangering a good chunk of the neighborhood, all so that they could continue to defy the court order.
He can't demand child visitation rights if he's dead, after all! And she can't' go to jail for defying the court if he doesn't exist!
Of course, their use of cell phones led to forensic investigators being able to prove that the girl and her family coordinated the assassination, so they all went to prison in the end anyway. And the child wound up in the care of her PATERNAL grandparents; but it is what it is.
Not all men who abandon their children, do so by choice.
My four youngest siblings, before they were adopted by my family; were only abandoned at the orphanage in Ukraine in 2006 after their original father discovered he was DYING OF CANCER!
Their mother had already abandoned them two years earlier than that, too interested in drinking and smoking her life away to give a crap about being a mother. Eventually, she too got sick and died.
@nastyb you take the OP’s feedback like he’s trying to pick a fight with you and argue for the sake of being right vs. WHAT is right.
It is true there are plenty of assholish men out there who pump, dump and ditch when the woman gets pregnant. The whole legal system of alimony on and child support system was created to address that.
However there is also a major ugly issue about how so many women spread it for low value asshole men (often recklessly with no birth control). They are either caught of in the “bad boy” moment and/or think they will change the guy or something.
I don’t care how confident, how attractive, how seductive or how prominent the asshole guy is. If he voluntarily decides to abandon his child to the mother he is NOT an “alpha male”. He’s not a beta male either. He’s the lowest of low. Nothing attractive about that.
But there is some sick and backward thinking way too many women have when decided to hop in the sack with those types of men. If you want to do it then go ahead. But there are CONSEQUENCES to your decisions. You can’t make a stupid decision and consent to an asshole and try to blame everybody but yourself the consequences.
@nastyb : The failure of some men to be good fathers doesn't disprove that importance. The vast number of abandoned kids who become dysfunctional burdens on society clearly reflects that. The out of control mental health crisis of today, the school to prison pipeline, etc.
And don't act like feminism and the courts are innocent. Corrupt officials have been engaging in human trafficking right under your nose to crazy extremes for 30 years!
When a father can be outright kidnapped by the gubmint, have no idea what he's even been charged with, if anything at all, and his kids get disappeared into foster homes, and his rights get callously disregarded, and courts for the sake of feminism (read: federal money) tolerate gross abuses, including forgeries by CPS workers on court documents authorizing things that judges and DAs never authorized, rationalized on opinions of workers based on zero tangible evidence of any wrongdoing, and then the kids get put on psychotropic drugs to keep them from complaining or acting out over the state kidnapping them, then sent to juvie when the drugs stop working and they rebel anyway, then the state cannot pretend anymore to have clean hands.
Fathers who are robbed like this are not responsible for how messed up the kids are. A state run by a loathsome kidnapping racket is to blame. Everyone who did this, in the worship of money, according to Moses, deserves death.
But all too often, instead of being executed, these criminals fail upwards, and get promoted! But keep blaming failed fathers for every single problem.
My own is far from perfect, but I would think it insane to blame him for all of society that's sick and wrong! That'd be intellectually lazy, to say the least.
@ Anonymous You are perfectly on point which is why I want nothing to do with women and I never will want anything to do with women again either. As far as I am concerned they don't even exist.
I was raised by my dad for most of my life because my mother was an alcoholic and she was not a good wife or mother to me and my brother. They divorced when I was 6 and she died when I was 17. My dad was (and still is) literally the best dad ever.
I do think single dads are given more sympathy. Part of that is because there is this old myth that mothers are better parents than fathers. I think mothers are better in some ways and fathers are better in others, generally speaking, but both are equally valuable in a child's life.
But single mothers and fathers are different than mothers and fathers in general. Fathers seem to do better than single mothers at raising children to be healthy adults, or at least that's what the studies are showing. I think when there are two parents, men often let mothers do more of the parenting. But when men become single parents they seem to step up and do a good job, better than single mothers in general. I know there are tons of exceptions to that.
It's great that fathers are getting more recognition and support now than in the past. For a long time fathers have been seen as optional or unnecessary, which is awful and untrue. That is getting better, but there are still a lot of people with that harmful mindset.
Yeah they are, a lot of single moms are looked at like they are sluts because they "couldn't keep their legs closed" or "you're shitty woman if you can't keep a man" but when single dads are seen they are looked at like they are some heros or so brave for raising a kid alone. I get that it's harder to get custody of your child as a guy because mom's are basically always the main parents (and are preferred as the parent by courts and stuff) unless they try to murder their kid or something super super bad (but either way it's sexists to to both genders ) but if men actually are single parents they receive definitely way more sympathy
Absolutely not ! Been a single dad since 2015 , when I took my 2 places / to events , esp my daughter, the mothers gave a hostile vibe , they obviously believe that all men are sex predators & pedos. Also , at my workplace , partnered mothers were given priority over me , if I needed to take an emergency leave day , if either of them was sick for example. So glad when they were older & did their own thing , son is now at Uni & my daughter is still living with me , she is still studying , also works part time.

Yes from the looks of it because women give birth to the child, if they are single mothers they are blamed for choosing a bad man if the man is a single father he took the responsibilities off the mother that gave birth to the child so then she's seen as the bad one, not only that, many single fathers are because the mother passed away, divorces happen as well but I've always noticed that when it's divorce or and accidental pregnancy, the woman usually keeps the baby but it's all somewhat random but I hope some of this info is helpful at least
This is complex and there has been a lot of shade thrown on both sides of this.
If a father is willing to be a single dad it’s usually because the mother was an exponential f*ck up and didn’t want the kids.
By default women are given more trust in society to patent whether it’s for the best or not. Sometimes it is but other times mothers really do stick it to the father for child support and/or to punish him by depriving of his right to see his kids (this is a huge reason MRIs started up by the way).
Anyway if a dad is willing to take full parental custody it has shown that he without a doubt is the most responsible. You just don’t hear of single dads unfairly winning child custody lawsuits very often let alone getting child support from deadbeat mothers. He took responsibility because he had a higher calling.
From what I’ve noticed about men, men tend to be more attentive to the children of the woman they currently f*ck. Prove me wrong if you can, that’s just something I’ve noticed.
As for women, women put their children first and love them all same, whether from the previous marriages or not.
My grandma’s brother left his whole inheritance to his step children, even though he had amazing children. It’s just some men really have their minds in their penis. A woman would never do that.
I believe that might be why some single fathers might be more encouraged and sympathized from the society,
Women have a hundred percent accountable to have sex with that man. That's on her.
It's because of a movie called Kramer vs Kramer.

Kind of or at least that’s what it was like with my last thing I dated. He had a kid with his ex wife. Never met the kid, but when I finally wanted to meet his kid, the idiot backed away. Then a couple weeks later found another woman. I think he ended things with that one as he is now on relationship number 3, but it looks like she is a single mom as well so that’ll work out of him. However, he is asking wayyyyyyyyyy to much for his house. Need to lower that price before anyone ever buys that thing.
Not sure about sympathy, but statistically, single fathers DO do a better job raising kids than single mothers and more people are finally starting to realize that.
Before, mainly due to media, the majority of people thought that fathers were mostly incompetent and only mothers were good at raising kids, but statistics show that it is often the opposite.
even deadbeat dads who abandon their kids are given more sympathy than single moms. I don't think you realize how many men abandon their kids. Its really common not only in US but also all around the world. And people find it acceptable for a man to abandon his kids. But if a woman is a single mom... she will be persecuted.
If single fathers are given more sympathy its mostly because this isn't the natural role nature and evolution equipped them for. Raising young kids is the natural role of the mother and what nature equipped her for. So its an unnatural job for a father and sympathy worthy.
My brother was given full custody of his sons when his ex girlfriend didn't want nothing to do with her sons. They still get to see her like every other weekend. I am actually surprised that the court ruled in favor of my brother who had evidence that his ex girlfriend wasn't a good mother.
Probably. Because it is far less common, and is generally the result of either the mother being completely unfit or deceased. It is rare for a fit mother to lose custody. It is very common for good dads to not have primary physical custody.
Anecdotal? Perhaps, but I do personally see this played out on a weekly basis in the courts.
Not even the tiniest bit.
Single dads are eyed with suspicion everywhere. God help you if you have a daughter. You can't go anywhere like a swimming pool or playground without some ignorant Karen type accusing you of being a predator.
You are ON POINT. And this is exactly why I want to move to Russia and never look back to the west.
@CB-Raido-Time If you think life will be better in Russia, you will be sadly mistaken. You don't have to go to a kleptocracy just to get away from the stupidity of America.
Oh definitely! Single moms are spoken about like the bane of existence and single dads are heroes.
Given that the majority of divorce are initiated by women, the system disproportionately skewed towards wen, I think it justifies when people see a father with a baby legally full-time.
You too it up a notch. Only the blame is put and only on women who people truly believe had no reason for divorce.
There are hero women as well.
wen, replace with women.
@The_Shadow_Dweller thanks. At this point, I don't care. People are mostly selfish.
They sometimes really are. We match on this point.
@The_Shadow_Dweller thanks. My mom raise dm alone because my Dad abandoned her. She hustled and didn't ask anyone for anything. It sickens me the way people slate single mothers. Men lie and say anything to get sex then change their minds at the drop of a hat when things don't feel the same then the woman gets blamed for picking badly. Like was she supposed to be psychic?
Maybe. Depends if the guy is nerdy, muscular, alpha, beta, whimp, strong, emotionless or needy. It depends on the guy to guy variability. Ain't nobody the same ☺️😋🧐
Probably, to be honest. The reason is that it's probably much more likely that a single dad is a single dad because of a tragedy like the unexpected death of the mom. Whereas in the case of single mom's the overwhelming majority of the backstory there tends to be really, REALLY poor life choices.
I wouldn't be surprised. Also, if the dad has custody, its likely because the mom was dead, deadbeat, or the dad was just really good at manipulating shit to gain custody.
Women have already gamed the system which is exactly why women almost always get custody. Men would have to game it again just to regain balance and fairness.
yes bc men don't know how to multitask and raise a child so they need more help in that bc they're weak in that so that's why people give them more sympathy
Is that what they taught you? You better get away from the feminist hivemind before you are fully indoctrinated to the point of no return.
@CB-Raido-Time I didn't mean men are weak , I meant in these type of circumstances they are
I took care of a lot of children tried to adopt one of them. A friend of mine took care of his three girls after his wife walked out on him. As far as multitasking you have no clue to what extent I have had to do that many many times including many days and night doing it without any sleep.
No + there needs to be more changing tables in the mens bathroom so single dads don't have to go to the woman bathroom if there isn't a one for disabilities that has a changing room and that's not always the case depending on where you live
No.
At least, not in my world. My wife and I don't feel that single dads are better or worse than single moms. It sucks that a lot of people, for whatever reason, do have men on a pedestal while women can just never be good enough...
Yeah.
A single dad just lost his woman and is still raising his baby.
A single mom couldn't keep her man and had a child out of wedlock.
Do you understand?
I think people tend to blame single moms for their situation and single dads not so much
People just tend to blame women more in general.
Single dad's aren't given any recognition because they're men. Do men ever get any praise these days for anything?
Generally they are not because the mother usually has most of the burden of care.
No never. Dad in general are second class in many of societies eyes.
Yes, because women are expected to be able to take care of children.
Because raising kids is a woman's job 🙄✋
In Finland, the wellfare and custody battles favor the mothers over the fathers after break up.
It should be even and fair for both.
Less single dads than single moms because the mother often gets custody, so if it's a single dad; Something fucked up probably happened
Men aren't givin sympathy for being a single dad.
Men strength vs women strength isn't the same so no sympathy from society.
There are two options for him, with child or no child, we don't know what exactly happened, but he picked the poorer choice. Its a +1.
Probably. No one cares much about single moms.
I think it depends on the situation. If he’s a widower then probably.
Probably because of how the kids of single moms turn out
Raised by a single mom who didn't by new clothes for years, refinanced the mortgage on her home and forwent a cushy benefits package for years from work so she would have more cash and put me through private school. I got my degrees, got married and stayed that way until had all my kids in wedlock. Sadly, had to leave due to abuse. I am putting all my kids through school, they are all bilingual and about to be trilingual. Their father barely calls them and only wanted custodyvof one to spite me. On Paper he is what ynthese fools on Gag call high value.
@DermalPunch i meant tha a lot of school shooters were raised by single moms.
If you have sons, i suggest you impose yourself as a stoic authority figure over them.
Those shooters are under mind control and are the fault of a totally different system.
Son's need the tenderness of mother's. They need to impose gentle but form co sequences. Having a mother acting like a man will. mess them up.
@DermalPunch no. Theyre the result of them being unable to control their emotions.
Sons need the tenderness of the mother and the discipline of the father.
Sons need the tenderness of the mother and the discipline of the father.
Right, exactly my point. So why would I be a stoic, masculine mother?
Discipline is the responsibility of both parents. I will not discipline my son in a masculine way because I am not a man.
Fortunately, their father does exercise visitation and they spend holidays with him. That's the best he can do and in life you have to accept things and make the best of them.
@DermalPunch why be a stoic mother?
I assume they spend the majority of the time with you?
If yes thats why.
Being tender is fine as long as you're not a push over
Being tender is fine as long as you're not a push over.
That's what I've been saying...
Yes because they don't have free milk to feed the baby with (/hj)
No never.
No not at all
i don't think so
Nope.
Yes yes
