Guys, why are single moms judged but not single dad's?

What if she wasn't crazy had her life together and treated you and loved you really good. Just because you hate another man kids shouldn't mean she should be alone all her life. Single dad's could be the same but no one judges them.

It's not because we hate another man kids.

It's the easiest thing in the world for a woman to have sex with an unworthy many and end up with an unplanned pregnancy. But it's relatively rare for a man to get custody of his children in a divorce or breakup. So you really can't compare the two.

There are a couple of primary reasons men tend to avoid single mothers. First, men do not have the same legal rights women have with respect to children. The courts by default view mothers as the primary parents, and men as financially responsible for them. If there is a divorce or breakup, women are almost always given custody, and men assigned financial responsibility for supporting them. Why in the world would a man CHOOSE to put himself in that situation for another man's kids? It's not that we hate them. We just don't want to take on the risk and liability if they are not even our children.

And second, in most cases when a woman ends up a single mother, it's usually (not always) a poor reflection on her as a woman because it is typically a result of her poor life choices. That is, she had unprotected casual sex, or bred with a man who had not demonstrated he would stay and be a good father. That is a problem women are typically not held accountable for. Society's focus is on "deadbeat dads", but women having uncommitted sex with low quality men is something women SHOULD be held accountable for. Men are acutely aware of that, and tend to avoid those women.

Single dads are also judged- just poll women and see how interested they are in dating single custodial dads.

Single dads are less judged because:

1. They're less likely to be known as a single dad since they didn't not usually have the kids with them anyway, while single mothers usually do

2. Women are slightly less judgmental in that area

There aren't many single dads because most dads never stick around to begin with. That's where deadbeat comes in.

I only judge single moms if they made poor life decisions like having a kid with some guy they don't even live with. I'm not interested in men so I don't think about single dads. I do tell my friends they are idiots if they get a girl pregnant who they don't see a future with.

I think both sides are judged, but guys are less agreeable in general so they are less likely to want to put up with it.
