There is no must in a world with billions of people but I find that if I initiate the relationship, I lose interest faster and the guy loses interest faster, then it would be if he initiates the relationship.

I don't think so, but they normally do. I think they would find it a relief if women did, and they liked a particular female who did this. It would take pressure off them to make the first move without fear of rejection. That must be tough on their egos if they are rejected time after time again.
